The Best Damn Thing ~ Avril Lavigne
Her rapping/yelling makes me laugh but I guess that's an element that makes the whole album fun to listen to. It kinda reminds me of, I dunno, early 90's punk/pop. Reviews are mentioning that "Mickey" song and I can see where they're coming from. If you've listened to the last album, this album is "He Wasn't" times a whole lot with more pop and punk. And of course you have the slower tracks which bring you back to the old Avril. I think "When You're Gone"(the next single) has the same feel of "I'm With You". In conclusion, I miss rebel Avril, but I support the new Avril. =)
Razorlight ~
Since I've come to realize that I'm really into the British music scene, I've finally decided to listen to some Razorlight. I've heard 3 of their songs on Radio 1 and I liked them. This band gives you some good rock. Not too hard, but it's like rock you can chill with, maybe bop your head to. I like how in one song, Johnny uses a lyric that refers to another song on the album. I think that's rather witty of them. =) So yes, I like this album too.
These Streets ~ Paolo Nutini
I haven't fallen in love with a voice in a while. His voice is so smooth, so SEXY. His voice is just beautiful. His songs are generally upbeat with catchy lyrics, but sometimes you can't help but stop singing along because his voice is just SO NICE. I think the prettiest track on this album is "White Lies" just because his voice is just rich and truthful(haha, the irony!). I think he would be classified as pop? but I wouldn't mind putting him under.. soul.. cuz this kid has it.
Alright, Still ~ Lily Allen
I would like to say a big LOL because her lyrics are so witty and sometimes bratty and for the most part true, and I love her for it. Every song is catchy, and I can't really pick a favorite song. Plus her voice is really really lovely. She reminds me of a songbird, and it reminds me of that one scene in Snow White when Snow White is cleaning and singing along with a bird.. lol. This review is short! =/
Yours Truly, Angry Mob ~ Kaiser Chiefs
I kinda only bought this album because I liked "Ruby". I dunno how to describe them. Most of the songs are pretty much "I Predict A Riot" but different, if you know what I mean? It's still a good album. A lot of the songs give me the urge to go out into the night and scream out their lyrics.
Introducing Joss Stone ~
Well, I like some of her songs. This is one of the few albums I don't like, lol. I think on this album, Joss oversings a lot of the time. She does have a big voice but I think she just overuses it. "Tell Me Bout It" is a good good song though. I wish I could say more about her, but I think I prefer Joss Stone before, and when referring to the title, you don't really get introduced to her, anyway. x)
Back to Black ~ Amy Winehouse
Here's a better album. She's got a great voice and good beats, and I think "whinehouse" is an insult because she does noootttt. Sometimes her music makes me think I'm listening to oldies, not that that's bad because oldies rule. Amy's good if you like soul, maybe throwback stuff. It kinda reminds me of Christina Aguilera's album Disc 1, but kinda better =x
Overtones ~ Just Jack
Kinda odd for me to listen to pop/rap. I think that's what I'll call his music. But hey if it's pop, I'll listen to it. It's catchy! And it's music from the UK. So hey, perfect match. =) The whole album is good, but my favorite is stil Starz in Their Eyes.
Life in Cartoon Motion ~ Mika
=DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
This album is just wonderful wonderful.. flamboyant pop? I dunno, the songs are colourful, catchy, bounceworthy, aaand you can't help but dance along, and sing along too. I like his falsetto too, and I'm jealous that he can sing higher than I can. =/ Maybe if I sing along frequently, I'll be able to get my range up to his. Because referring to the man himself, I am mad enough to want to do that, lol. Anyway, there isn't really one song on this album that I don't like.
