fod is down again. so this is my temporary outlet
stuff can be divided into:
- trivial
- the opposite of trivial. like, untrivial
so let's get started:
trivial: getting laughed at by fourthgraders and only because they're told to. are these kids that impressionable? it makes me think how long it takes in order for a human to begin forming his or her own opinions. and maybe gain a little sensitivity. as you can see, my chemistry demonstrations couldn't have done better than bad. i felt like mr. stoll saying "go off, enjoy your day, enjoy science" and then postscripting quietly, "your life just gets worse after this point so enjoy it." i smiled and masked my indignance (badly) and struck half a box of matches afterwards. and to think i was a kid once too...
i PR'ed in mile. i just felt it coming, having not run it well for about a year. 5 minute 6. since i'm an anal nerd, i'm going to analyze this per quarter and try to get something out of it
- 1:07 - wayyyyy too fast
- 2:24 - 1:17 - not too shabby, dropping to a sensible pace
- 3:48 - 1:24 - a little slow, kinda inconsistent
- 5:06 - 1:18 - match my second, good finish
accounting for windy conditions, i had a fine time trial. i'm pushing this further down monday when there's more than the wind pushing me along. now i have to consider running waterfall tommorrow or not... hmm.
i then drove around with the teammates, got mcdonalds and a 44 oz. tea and lemonade mix of my own concoction - damn was it sugary. but only 50 cent. it made me have to pee really bad. besides that, i had to work the meet. i took the job of scoring it and i did my part in our first team victory. and a "good job!" to all you badmintoners out there. your victory, i assure you is not trivial. i saw the matches and was impressed.
thus, the untrivial:
i came home and just looked up. it's beautiful above. the stars were in full view in a great dark sphere, clouds parted. i stood there and the sky revolved around me for the moment when i was at the center of the universe. try this when the sky is right. you'll know for sure that you are truly special.
