so yeah the random shit that ferris and i come up with.... this morning i wake up and we are talking about how my moms makin Reuben sandwichs and he was all "so i heard that the reuben comes from Nebraska...like it was invented here..." and i was like "no way i'll google it..." and sure enough...
the Reuben sandwich was invented in 1920 at a hotel in omaha by a grocer who attended the Blackstone Hotels poker nights the poker club members called themselves "the commitee" and the grocer introduced the sandwich as a late night snack on the late night games and later in 1935 the sandwich was officially put on the hotels menu and became popular....the grocer that made this sandwich was Reuben Kulakofsky he died in omaha in 1960 at the age of 86.
