Mi familia nueva is muy mejor!!!

Sunday night, my new fmaily took me out to eat and everyone (mother, father and three daughters) talked to me... I sopke more in one meal than I did in 10 meals at the first house!!! They all speak differnt levels of English and understand that they need to explain things better in Spanish or sometimes explain a word or a few in English for me to get it. After dinner, we went drove around town (the first time I had seen anything other than the center of it) and rocked out to Guns N Roses, all of us singing with Axel - including the 5 year old!!!

There is a 14 year old (today is her birthday, she is a ¨rocker¨with a love of Iron Maiden, Megadeth and anything hard; she´s way too smart for her own good; and, she speaks the most amount of English), a 9 year old (oh so sweet and cute as can be!!!) and a 5 year old (one of the best teachers of Spanish I´ve had yet, she explains with hand gestures and will say the same thing 5 bazillion times until I get it). The father is a taxi driver and is studying marketing - he lived in Hondorus during the revolution and has a great laugh. The mother is 3 years older than me, has her law degree, but runs a clothing shop in front of the house. She explains things, talks to me, is passionate, is funny and is fast becoming a great friend! They are one of the most loving families with the funniest inside jokes and crazinesses I have ever seen! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

This town is amazingly beautiful and presents more of itself everyday! We went to a homeopathic clinic yesterday and an all-natural resturaunt yesterday that was beautiful! Today, we went to an afterschool school for children in need of social skills. I asked if I could go back once my Spanish is better and volunteer with them, which I hope to get a chance to.

The murals around town speak of the heartache and hope that the people of Estelí have from the revolution. They are some of the nicests people here in the town square, however, I look forward to a time when I can go back to the barreo I was in today, as I feel it is a much different expereince. The houses are made of wood and people are obviously with less money.

I will write more when I have time, but the computer wasted almost 10 minutes opening this page! Needless to say, I love it here. I just wish that I could have more patience with my knowledge of the language!
