Mistakes-Chapter 3- Confrontation

Authors Note: I'm playing up the Cameron/Cuddy friendship this chapter- mainly because of Cameron being lonely and surrounded by guys. Also Cameron is a bit less passive than usual- and this was 2 chapters, i just made it into one coz people want to see Houses reaction.
Chapter 3- Consultation
Cameron walked through the clinic into Dr. Cuddy's office. She knocked on the door- "Come in" Cuddy said.
Cameron walked in and started to speak "I..."
Cuddy put her hand up to silence her. "Yes, we need those insurance claims today please.... No... I am not coming down to the office and collecting them.... I do not have that sort of time.... Yes..... Thank you." she hung up. "Dr Cameron what is wrong?"
Cameron had her worried-and-tired look on her face. "I have a problem...and it isn't likely to go away by itself.."
"Sit down. What sort of problem?"
"The one that takes 9 months to come to a head."
"You are pregnant?" Cuddy looked astonished.
"Yes. But I haven't told you the rest." Cameron looked down. "House is the father."
"Oh my god, Cameron. How did that happen?" 2
"Protection doesn't always do what it is supposed to... Plus I was off my Birth control Pills- I was due for a period that week."
"How far along are you?" Cuddy seemed suddenly concerned.
"Uh... 8 weeks I think.. I've started getting nauseous. Lisa, you won't tell House will you?" Cameron looked desperate.
"I won't. But you should." She looked sincere as she said it.
Cameron looked at her watch. "Well... I'm late, I better go. Thanks for the talk Lisa."
"Anytime Allison."
Cameron walked out of the office. She walked the stairs up to the diagnostic department so she could mull over what Cuddy had said to her, and to think what she would say to House. When she arrived Foreman and Chase were gone but House was in his office.
"Feeling better?" House asked as he pulled off his headphones.
"Yeah...but I really need to talk to you."
"Shoot." House looked apprehensive.
"I have no idea how to say this, so I'm just going to come right out and say it..."
"Geez Cameron, are you gonna blow up the world?" House started twirling his cane.
"Greg, no jokes please." She paused. "I'm pregnant... and it's yours."
The cane clattered to the floor.
House got up and limped from the office as fast as he could.
"House where are you going?"
"Out."
"You can't run away from this you know."
"This maybe, You yes."
"House we need to talk about this!"
"Talk? Talk? The time for talk is over! You're pregnant!"
"You wanna say it a bit louder? The people in Radiology didn't hear us!" Cameron looked angry. House was livid.
"You are pregnant! We used protection! How the hell are you pregnant?"
"Thats right, blame it on the Condom factory. Can't you actually accept partial responsibility for once?" Cameron was shouting. Everyone in the foyer was staring. People in the clinic came out to see what was the commotion.
"Partial responsibility? I'm not responisible!!!! Arn't you on BCP?"
"Huh- your not responsible? It takes two to make a baby! And I wasn't on the pill that week. Do we have to discuss my cycle in front of others?"
"Why not. Everyone knows about your baby now."
"Our baby.. Our baby House. Your gonna be a father, whether you like it or not!"
"I could never be father material!" House was showing an emotion other than anger. Tears were pouring down Camerons face.
"Well maybe you don't have to be! If I had known you would react like this, I wouldn't have told you!" Cameron turned on her heel and ran back up to the diagnostic office.
Cuddy ran out of her office. "What is going on?" She spied cameron out the side of her and ran after her. "Bloody hell House. This has got to be a first." She shouted over her shoulder.
Cuddy found Cameron in the stairwell. Cameron was crying, her chest was heaving, and her tears were dripping on the floor.
"Allison?" Cuddy asked tentively. "Are you alright?"
"What the hell do you think?" Cameron angrily said "The whole fucking hospital knows I'm pregnant, House hates this idea- and I feel like crap."
"Allison, House hates not being in the know. This would have been a whole different puzzle and he would have figured it out anyway. It was better that you tell him, than not telling him."
"Will he adjust to the idea of being a father? I don't have any expectations of him now. He can be as involved as he likes."
"Allison, we both know that you want him to be involved in this childs life. Thats an expectation."
"Yeah. I guess." Cameron looked calmer- but her face was red, her hair was in strands across her face.
"But.."
"But what?" Cuddy looked apprehensive.
"I haven't decided whether I want to go through with the pregnancy. I mean, I worked so hard to get where I am. I went through seven years of med school whilst my husband died, I looked for a job for a year, then landed one of the most prestegious fellowships. I'm not sure I'm ready to give that all up yet."
"Allison, I really think that is a decision you and Greg should make- it will effect both of you."
