At least those of you living in the west or midwest. :o) Oh, and be careful that you request only the free credit report, since they try to upsell you. I've heard that at least one of the credit bureaus also defaults to subscribing you to their marketing list unless you uncheck the relevant box. So, as always, be cautious!

Here's a copy of a note our dean sent out... good advice:
As of March 1, Illinois residents can request a free credit report annually from each of the three major credit bureaus--Experian, Equifax and TransUnion.
The reports will be available at
http://www.annualcreditreport.com/ or by phone at 877-322-8228. You can also request a report by mail from Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.
Note that requesting a credit report will not count as a negative hit on your credit as long as you request only one report from each agency in a calendar year. A viable plan may be to request one report from one of the agencies every four months such as in the following example.
February - Trans Union
June - Experian
October - Equifax
February - Trans Union
The free reports are part of a national program to help consumers protect their identity and personal information.
