“Well, well, well…what do we have here?” Yuu said maliciously as he walked in circles around Akira’s car. He had some keys out, and he was scratching against the doors harshly, causing everyone in the car to cover their ears except Kouyou. Kouyou was looking at Yuu who was outside, completely unaware of their situation. Not that it mattered that much to him, but whatever. He was completely spaced out, and it was good that he was, or he would be freaking out as much as Takanori was.

He wore his seatbelt tightly around his waist, crouching down against his own seat and looking at Yuu with terrified eyes. He didn’t want to go back there. It was more preferable to die a starving child than to live under the roof of a man like that. He had done nothing but make him feel ugly, unimportant, unwanted. He had made him do difficult jobs and kept him in an unsanitary room filled with mice. But most of all, he had made him believe that he wasn’t worth anything at all.

After meeting Akira, Takanori knew that wasn’t true. He was so sure of himself now, and it was all thanks to the other. He was so happy for the first time ever, and the only person that he was able to thank was Akira. Although things weren’t going the way he wanted them to and he was terrified to his stomach, Takanori could honestly say that he was feeling happy. He was feeling happy that he had met someone like Akira, and he was happy that Akira loved him back. He obviously loved him back, right?

Most of all, he was happy that he had been close to freedom.

The tasted of freedom still lingered on his tongue, and his senses were still excited from the feeling. Maybe it was because he still had some hope inside of him. Maybe it was because he had a feeling that it wasn’t all over yet. Regardless of the events that had happened so quickly, less than a few minutes to be exact, he was sure that somewhere in there, hope was still available, and he was going to hang on to it until Yuu had him on his knees, begging to be released. And that would be the last thing Takanori would have wanted to see. He wanted an end.

Akira was frozen solid when Yuu’s eyes met his, they were teasing him and Akira knew it. Yuu knew that he had won already, and all he had to do was take what was his back. He wasn’t too worried about Takanori, although he was certain that he needed the boy very much because of his obedience, but who he was really thinking about in his head was Kouyou, the young boy in the back who seemed so careless about everything at the moment. So serene. And that’s what Yuu loved about him.

Kouyou was a perfect being, and it wasn’t just because of his looks. Yuu thought his looks helped, but his personality was what he really liked best. His features were always calm, even when the most pain was found inside of him, and Yuu felt like he needed to protect the other from having such feelings. That pain was unstoppable, although Yuu knew that he could get rid of it if he just released the other, but he didn’t have the heart to do it. One wouldn’t throw away their most prized possession, would they?

“Yuu…” Akira spoke softly, knowing that it wasn’t going to improve the situation much, but there was nothing more he could do. “I can’t let you keep these boys like this. It’s not morally correct.” It was child labor, was it not? But Yuu had gotten away with it with a little thing called the power of money and Akira knew it wasn’t fair. He had no right to own anyone that way. It made his stomach churn how his beautiful Japan could hold such vile and dirty people like Yuu Shiroyama.

Akira had never done something like. Akira would never even think of trying to own people in that manner. He had servants, sure, but they were allowed to work, they chose to work, and they got paid pretty well for house workers. This pain that he was feeling caused him to double think about what he had been paying them, because they deserved more. And Takanori would find it noble of him, would he not? Oh, the things that Akira would do to receive Takanori’s approval. It could probably make him look like a madman, which he now admitted he was.

“And having sex with a 15 year old boy is?” Yuu smirked, looking over at the shaking Takanori. Takanori looked at Akira with a questionable look, while Akira gave him a sheepish smile that made him feel like that meant “just go with it”, so he agreed and he looked at Yuu with reassuring eyes. “Yeah, Takanori, I know what he did. Uh, at least Kouyou is technically an adult so I can’t get charged for being a pedophile!” Yuu laughed heartily, although he knew that wasn’t funny. It was just there to mock the age differences in Akira’s face.

“At least it wasn’t forced.” Takanori spoke up, leaving everyone in shock. Takanori was never one to speak up, EVER. But now that he had gained some confidence, why not put this new little trick to a good use. If he wasn’t going to use it anywhere else, why not use it right then and there? That’s when it was most needed. That is when he was finally going to get over all of his fears. That is when he was going to be able to say everything he wanted to say. It was his time to shine.

“I love Akira, Yuu.” Takanori said with confidence. “I really don’t care if he is so much older than him, I love him and I wouldn’t let anyone bother him about his age. I just wish I had been born later to make this much easier, but I don’t care. I’m okay with him and I love him and there’s really nothing that you can do to change that or shame me for it.” Takanori had said a little more than he had expected to say, but it was all true. He was going to deny it sooner or later, when he and Akira were alone, but he knew that he meant all of those things so he wasn’t going to feel guilty for any of it.

“You guys are sick.” Yuu laughed more. He was sick himself, that was true, but Takanori had taken all the good words to say. He now couldn’t shame him anymore, he couldn’t make anyone feel worse than he himself was feeling right now. But why worry about that when he still had the password for the gate and that was the only thing that wasn’t going to change. Why not brag about it a little, now that he had the chance to do it? “I have the password either way, guys. So you can’t leave until I say what you both need.”

Yutaka was quietly becoming furious at the actions and the words of Yuu. He had been waiting for this moment his whole life, taking Kouyou with him and having a nice apartment right next to a coffee shop, in an area where there was plenty of rain to watch as it fell from the skies, dripping slowly on their windows and racing down to the finish line. That was Yutaka’s wish, and he wasn’t going to have it taken from by anyone, not even the one that he was loyal to for countless years.

Although Kouyou didn’t seem to be on the same page as he was, he still cared about him with a passion. Kouyou looked upset, about leaving the house or about leaving his room or about leaving all the memories that built up in the dirty walls for years and years. Yutaka didn’t quite get what could have been going through the other’s head, but he wasn’t really going to think about it. Kouyou was probably not in the right mind at the moment, so he wasn’t going to bother even thinking about it for a second.

And then, he reached into his back pocket. It was something that no one would have imagine coming from Yutaka. It was something that he didn’t even know he owned until he had looked around in his old drawers whenever he was thinking about what to bring on his trip. Although he had hesitated on bringing it, he thought it could come in handy, and yes, it actually had. Yutaka held the gun firmly with a tight grip, aiming it straight at Yuu while Yuu stared at it shocked. And Yutaka slowly moved out of the car, making sure that Yuu was so close to the gun that it made him shiver.

“So Yuu…” Yutaka said with his bright smile. Akira was surprised by seeing how calm Yutaka seemed, and how sunny his smile was even though he was prepared to commit a murder if things didn’t go his way. “Either you tell us the password...or you die. I’ll figure a way out ourselves somehow. So which one will it be?” The tone that Yutaka said it in had so much poison in it that it was clear and palpable. It was so much hate that he had gathered up from living with him and having him touch what was his.

“I thought you guys would have figured it out…it was so obvious.” Yuu said with a low chuckled, putting his hands up in the air and backing away slowly from Yutaka. Although Yutaka kept his guard down a bit, he wouldn’t stop aiming at Yuu no matter how quietly he was talking and how sincere his voice was beginning to sound. Anyone who is that close to death reveals themselves right before they die. “What is your door, Akira? What is the door to you?”

“What?” Akira sounded so confused.

“The door to his heart.” Takanori said quietly. “Is that what you talking about, Yuu?” Takanori tilted his head, feeling intelligent when he received sort of a nod from Yuu, who was still nervously looking over at Yutaka, never letting himself feel to completely safe around him.

“Yes.” Yuu nodded. “The door to our heart is the door to each one of us, is It not?” Yuu looked at every single one of the them, just to receive a soft nod and a look that told him that everyone there thought that he had gone completely crazy. Except Kouyou. Kouyou did nothing but listen quietly and feel a small smile creeping up on his face when he saw the other looking at him with a sincere face that told him that everything would be just fine, even though he was the bad guy in the equation.

“What is the key to my heart?”

No one responded. The quiet was swallowing them all whole, and Yuu wanted to laugh about it. Everyone seemed so clueless, but Kouyou looked like he had an idea. He just looked like he wasn’t going to say anything. And he didn’t say anything. In fact, he stayed quiet and waited for the silence to get extremely awkward, to the point that Yuu sighed loudly and looked at every single one of them again.

“Kouyou.” Yuu said with a quiet voice. “Kouyou is the key to my heart. Kouyou is the love of my life and the only thing that makes it worth living. I thought I had made that pretty clear.” Yuu looked straight at Kouyou with the most sincere eyes. “I love you.” And that was all he said before he began walking back in the mansion. He was so tired of fight. He was so tired of fighting specially for something that wasn’t going to fight back for him.

“What a doof.” Yutaka snorted after seeing the other walk away in defeat.

Takanori was now smiling because he knew what was coming next.

Freedom.

They put the password in, and the gates opened, as Akira drove with a huge grin. It was finally done.

But Kouyou wouldn’t stop looking back at the old mansion, where he could see Yuu looking back at him.

And he felt pain.
