I Still Dream of Jeannie review

I just watched the I Still Dream of Jeannie reunion movie from 1991 tonight. It didn't suck as badly as the first one.

Looking for the same actors that played the characters during the original series? You'll only find Barbara Eden as Jeannie and Bill Daily as Roger.

There were still some things that seemed amiss.
1.) No Tony Nelson at all. I liked the fact that they used Ken Kercheval as T.J.'s guidance counselor and later temporary master though. On Dallas, he played Clifford Barnes who is J.R.'s rival so there's technically homage to Larry Hagman.
2.) This movie made it seem as if the first reunion movie never existed. Roger is here and knows of them, but Haji had made everyone who ever knew her seem as if she didn't exist at the end of the first reunion movie. Jeannie either fixed it or we're to assume the first movie never existed.
3.) Jeannie didn't go miniature or use telepathy to find out information. She could've done that easily to find out where in the solar system Tony was.
4.) Jeannie is 4,233 years old. Um, what happened to her birth year of 64 BC? She should only be 2,056 or something really close to that.
5.) What happened to Haji as chief of the djinn? There's this Sham-Ir that nobody has heard of instead.
6.) T.J. is still half djinn but doesn't act on it at all. Here he is in a bunch of trouble and could've used his powers to help him, but he doesn't use them.
7.) They still trust Jeannie's sister? Seriously, they've been married all these years and they still trust the evil sister. Wow.
8.) Different sound effects for the blink again. Why? What's the matter with the original sound effects?

There's actually some comedy too.
1.) Jeannie is walking out of the space center and all the guys stare at her. One falls into the pond because he was too busy staring at her.
2.) Invisible dog appropriately named Djinn Djinn. If this is the same dog from the series, Roger should've been worried about his uniform.
3.) Tying up the MP looking for Jeannie.
4.) The pigs to deter who was following Jeannie.

Notable quotes? There's a good one said by Jeannie's sister. "You married the first man that let you out of your bottle."

Could this be canon? I definitely consider T.J. to be canon, partly because he was also in the first reunion movie. This also seemed more Jeannie like, but as official canon? Probably not. It's your call.

Oh! I almost forgot that T.J. is not played by Mackenzie Astin in this movie. He's played by Christopher Bolton.

I actually do recommend this movie to watch. It's much better than the first one.
