Sometimes she wondered if anyone would notice if Frank Cooper disappeared one day; just vanished into thin air. It was a nice thought. Then she would admonish herself for the thought; as tempting as it presented itself, she knew that the reality would be a lot more troublesome than what it was worth. The banishment of the 'good man' mantle might have been a more worthwhile challenge; she knew that if she heard those two words and Frank's name within the same sentence, she'd have to work even harder to not actively sneer at the speaker. Of course, a balance would be struck by the additional Hail Mary's that she'd say in penance for the thought as though it were the deed.
