I did some work outside yesterday morning cutting up the large tree branch that came down in a recent thunderstorm. It is all stacked on the woodpile. :)
The round cherry tomatoes are starting to ripen. There were four red ones hanging there this past weekend. One I found laying by the raised bed ½ eaten. This morning I caught one of our chipmunks sitting next to the raised bed happily having another morning snack. So intent on stuffing his little fat face he did not hear me come out the back door. Must have scared the bejesus out of him since I got one of the highest pitched squeaks from him that I have ever heard. LOL! Brat. I think that I owe Piglet an apology, I though it was he that stole the first tomato.
I am getting a late start to my day since I was up most of the night. Just couldn’t get to sleep.
Knitting continues on the Levanto. Still decreasing the top portion of the back butam almost done. Then it is on to the sleeves.
NAVY ADMITS WHALES AND DOLPHINS IN HARM'S WAY
http://news.discovery.com/earth/online-protests-against-navy-sonar-plans-120706.html Navy to deafen 15,900 whales and dolphins and kill 1,800 more
Our Navy is required to include comments on their Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) re: the use of high frequency underwater sound for testing in Hawaii, the California and Atlantic Coasts, and the Gulf of Mexico. According to their estimates it will deafen more than 15,900 whales and dolphins and kill 1,800 more over the next 5 years. Whales and dolphins depend on sound to navigate and live. Your signature and comment will have to be included in the EIS and could stop this Naval program, potentially saving the lives of these ocean creatures. The comments must be in by July 10, 2012.
That's why I signed a petition to U.S. Navy EIS Comments.

Today, a full 80 percent of all antibiotics are used on livestock, and this massive overprescription is breeding new strains of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and reducing the overall effectiveness of antibiotics.
Even the FDA admits the problem. So it was all the more disappointing when the FDA issued new rules in April that allow factory farms to continue overusing antibiotics, making compliance totally voluntary.
The FDA is accepting comments on the new rule until Thursday. Please join me in urging the FDA to pass a stronger, mandatory standard that keeps antibiotics out of our food:

I’m hungry so am off to have something for lunch. Have a wonderful day all!

You could have to pay a big fine for simply clicking on the wrong link.
Right now, a group of 600 industry lobbyist "advisors" and un-elected government trade representatives are scheming behind closed doors1,2 to craft an international agreement called the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Why the secrecy? We know from leaked documents3 that the TPP includes what amounts to an Internet trap that would:
• Criminalize4 some of your everyday use of the Internet,
• Force service providers to collect and hand over your private data without privacy safeguards5, and
• Give media conglomerates more power to fine you for Internet use,6 remove online content-including entire websites-and even terminate7 your access to the Internet.
• The TPP would create a parallel legal system of international tribunals that will undermine national sovereignty and allow conglomerates to sue countries for laws that infringe on their profits.
•
The TPP's Internet trap is secretive, extreme, and it could criminalize your daily use of the Internet. You could be fined for simply clicking on the wrong link. We deserve to know what will be blocked, what we and our families will be fined for.
If enough of us speak out now, we can force participating governments to come clean. Your signature will send a message to each country's leaders.8 Please sign the petition and share it with everyone you know

Do you really own the smartphone you’re using to read this email?
If you sold your computer, would you be breaking the law? A federal court in New York says you would be.
It's unbelievable, but trademark and copyright holders really are trying to take away your right to sell things that you own.
http://act.demandprogress.org/act/first_sale/?referring_akid=a6457446.655732.o9Lw_Q&source=auto-e If we don't speak out now, we won’t be able to sell almost anything we own -- and if we do, we'll face charges for violating intellectual property law!
First-Sale Doctrine gives us the right to sell most property we own. But if the Supreme Court supports the lower court’s decision, we won't really “own” anything if it's been made in a different country. We expect them to issue a ruling later this year.
If we want to sell products that were made abroad, from Macbooks and iPhones to our clothing and textbooks -- even our homes -- we'll have to ask copyright holders for permission first. And they'll have the right to deny it!
This is bad for so many reasons: It'll undermine Craigslist and Ebay, hurt the environment, increase incentives for manufacturers to make things and move jobs off-shore, and effectively ban the traditional American yard sale.
