I was walking through the downstairs living room last night and heard something that I haven’t heard in what I would call a long time. The frogs and other inhabitants of our woods have started their night chorus. What a heavenly sound! And it has been nice to be able to keep the windows open round the clock.
It is foggy outside this morning.
I frogged the lace shawl I had started after dropping a stitch. I’ll go back to it later, but, in the meantime I found a pattern by Spunky Eclectic called Show Your Colors that I think will work well with some yummy variegated yarn daughter Jane gave me for Christmas. It is a simple pattern of alternating stockinette and lace bands that won’t fight the yarn and vice versa. Plus, there will be enough of the yarn left over to make a pair of matching socks too. Here is a pic of the start

Upon returning home from yesterday’s errands I decided that I had to take some magnolia tree pictures. It is really covered in blossoms this year and it smells so good.

Cat-poo coffee 'tastiest in the world'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9467000/9467967.stm I just heard the undeniable sounds of a cat getting rid of its breakfast followed by Dearest using the Scottish brogue. He came through to tell me to watch my step in front of the powder room door. No, I did not ask how he found out it was there. :)
Friend Cheryl told me she has her first hummingbird so one of today’s activities will be to wash up the hummingbird feeder and make nectar and then hang it out. The baby birds have arrived.
Enough nattering. Have a great day!
Bits & Pieces
You know, I find myself shaking my head every morning over comments that some Repug or other has made and thinking that they are either prime examples of educational fail, morally corrupt or outright liars. Today’s entry is Allen West of Florida who claims that Planned Parenthood is “neutering American men”. Well, ok, I won’t go there, but you probably know what I am thinking.
Here, you read what he said.
