Oh, yes. That sort of thing was more my dad's style, although we do have a picture of Ian up in the air, with a hand just visible a foot or so below him. Come to think of it, my dad was there when that picture was taken, and probably egging Ian's dad on.
My dad still loves to tell the story of meeting his niece for the first time (essentially his first direct contact with an infant) and how he grabbed her by the feet and held her upside down, to the tune of his sister's screams.
My mother, apparently, had been warned, so no such screams were forthcoming. (I wonder if he was disappointed. *g*)
He loved doing what we came to think of as "circus tricks" in which he tossed us, had us balance on his outstretched palm, and other crazy tricks. I think I was about ten when I had been up on the roof "helping" him fix the cooler and he took the ladder away and wanted me to jump down into his arms. At which point, I assessed the situation and sat on the roof as evening fell until he finally relented and brought the ladder back.

It *is* fun to see the photos as a slideshow :-)

Now, now. No babies were harmed in the filming of this movie. *g* His dad is hiding behind him, hanging on for dear life.

Thanks! It was fun playing with the Sprout gizmo, which is free (at least while it's still in beta!) and available at http://sproutbuilder.com/.
