Well it took me so long to finish this tri-weekend extravaganza lj that another weekend has passed that should be recorded. Bringing the total lj to an entire month! Lets continue where I left off, what is now a week ago. (Halloween weekend!!)
On friday afternoon I learn that the Haunted Keg is going to be on Saturday and on Friday night a couple people will actually be in NKY. So I roll on home, have a wonderful homecooked meal and learn the plan for the evening. I roll on over to 917 Mary St. to the residence of Schnie and the partyin begins. There I am greeted by Schnie Gruber and Wilson and the plans are laid out in full. First, we shall head to the Levee to see Saw II. Schnie is wearing about 9 different clothing accessories and generally looks like a tool which is pretty funny. He's rocking at any one time Cadillac Bling, Shell necklace, Bandanna, Aviators, Wristbands, Goomba Armband, and the Confederate belt buckle. We drive to Newport and I remember the Extra Coldstone coupons I had printed at Staples. I grab them out of the car for a post-movie meal. We get inside to discover that all showings of Saw II, until well past midnight, are sold-out. We head to Coldstone for consolation free ice cream. Though a little hesitant to use all four at once, I hand them out to the guys and we roll inside. The first girl is glad to help and doesn't seem to care that I have the coupon. I get a medium size and 3 toppings. Schnie's girl is a little less pleased and he gets the small size and 2 toppings. We both walk outside and see Lucas who we had previously called. By the time Wilson and Gruber walk outside they were only getting a small size, 1 topping, and a request to come back inside. We quickly leave the premises, not to return for quite some time. We leave the levee to head to Bobby Mackey's Bar. After eating the ice cream in the garage for a while, we leave and go to Taco Bell since only Lucas knows where the bar actually is. We call him and tell him to meet us there, which since Wilson and he are already halfway home, he was not too pleased about. Here we see that awesome car that is the opening pic for the Halloween album on my photo webpage. Lucas rolls up about 10-15 minutes later and we tell him we are going to the bar now. He drives off with Wilson and we follow. After a slightly confusing trip through Covington he finds his way and we arrive at the bar. We walk inside, where we see two guys holding a big thing of roses, which is slightly amusing. We don't go into the bar and instead pay the $5 for the basement tour. Maybe this would be a good time to explain why we are at this bar at all, let alone taking a tour of its basement. Bobby Mackey's is said to be one of the most haunted places in the entire United States. As our guide explains on the way down numerous people have died, but mainly been killed, in the bars illustrious 150 year history. We enter the basement and are instantly confronted with its EXTREMELY creepy atmosphere. The girl leads us around the different rooms pointing out various interesting sights and explaining certain parts of the bar's haunted past. When we arrive at the slaughter room (the bar was first a slaughterhouse in the 1860's) we are shown the "Wall of Faces". Here is a plaster wall that definitely has many face like images imprinted into it. Regardless of how they were put there, its definitely weird. We suddenly hear something moving, and then something making a VERY loud crash. Everyone, including the guide, starts freaking the hell out until we notice the cat darting in front of us. It runs around for a bit before hiding and then emitting a very disturbing Meow. Our nerves completely shaken up, we continue on the rest of the tour. We leave, a little more respectful of the ghosts that may or may not inhabit the bar. (Gruber swears he saw a rope hanging from the ceiling that was gone upon a second inspection) After getting our ghost on we head to Gruber's to set a small fire. It seems the appropriate thing to do. Schnie drives with me straight to UDF while Lucas takes Gruber back to Schnies for car pickups. Gruber burns Lucas on Route 8 and arrives at UDF almost 5-10 min before Lucas and Wilson arrive. We snake some firewood from the front of the store and Lucas puts up a VERY loud protest despite our repeated statements to NOT worry about the wood that magically appeared in the back of his car. Schnie and I head to Remke's where he opens both doors at once, grabs a bale of hay, tosses it in the back seat, and gets back in the car all in under about 10 seconds. We head out to our new fire pit in Gruber's neighborhood and light the flames of our youthful passion. Since the hay had been sitting outside it is fairly damp and doesn't light easily, and then when it DOES light, it spews thick black smoke into the night. The giant cloud has us wondering if we'll be seen but we stay and warm ourselves for a while. We leave the fire to do some driving on Route 8. We arrive down on the river to be COMPLETELY encased in fog so thick, it defys the imagination. Suddenly, the fog clears and we arrive at the final stretch of road before county maintainance ends. In the past we would have continued but after what happened to Goody (chased in reverse by some crazy hilljack) we are wary of continuing down the road. I drive back the way we came for a while before Gruber calls and demands we come back down. As I'm driving back I see their headlights, and not far behind and closing quickly, another set of headlights. We're yelling into the phone for them to get the fuck out of their as Schnie and I pull a quick 180 and speed the fuck away. We meet up at the park on the river and turn off all car lights. We wait for a bit and see a large truck roar past us. Gruber wants to go back, a plan which I am having none of at that point, and we decide to meet at his pool house. Upon meeting up Lucas calls it a night and Gruber and Wilson switch cars. We head back into the now fog-drenched night and head to the industrial parks for some driving fun. When we get to them though it is too foggy to see where anything (including the road) is. We do find one later and pull an awesome reverse 180. After driving around for a bit we head to White Castle near Gruber's house. After filling ourselves I drop everyone off and head home for sleep. It was a good Friday night, but there will be more tomorrow.
THEN, it's Saturday.
I wake up at around 4:30 and get together the pieces of my Doctor costume for the party that night. My mom was nice enough to steal a lab coat from her school, and I borrowed my dad's reflex hammer and stethoscope. I also took one of his shirts that I thought looked especially "doctorish". I drove down to Lex and arrived around 730. We chilled at Schnie's apartment for a couple hours and I watched people get ready. Schnie set up his Peach costume while Jarn was constructing his Tin Man outfit. At around 1030 we headed on over to Mouse & Gruber's where the party was already goin. I split a bottle of Captain with Schnie and thus drank Captain Dew for most of the night. Delicious, but deadly. Oh well. I won't go much into the party itself other than the fact that it was a whole lot of fun. People had a genuinely good time. One of the best parts was definitely Nathan Scott Pumpkin, who was fully carved and rocking. He looked gorgeous. A lot of fun people were at the party and no one was sending out bad vibes. Schnie apparently walked like 3 miles back after going to someones house. In all a really fun night filled with silly costumes. Zemmmy had a great one. He had rigged up PVC piping and bed sheets to make a curtain around himself. He was a walking photo booth. Classic. The night ended around 3-4 when most of the people had cleared out.
Sunday morning! (rain is fallin, share your covers share, some skin. Ok, none of that happened, I just like that song)
ANYWAYS! Two sunday mornings occurred. The first at like 830 when Graham's friend's friend needed to leave to meet her parents and created what could only be described as a tremendous ruccus. I hate loud people. I REALLY hate loud people when I'm tired. After going back to sleep we woke up again around 1045. Just in time for Gatti Town. We laid around the house for a while and then piled in Gruber's van to go to Gatti town. The time change was kinda fucking with everyone but it turned out ok. Anyways, we filled ourselves with delicious pizzas pastas and breads. Schnie still had his gold painted hair rockin and some assholes were bein dumb and makin fun of it. We were ready to roll, but they obviously were scared of us and went to the not movie room. As we watched Shrek and ate our food we reflected on the great night and some other hilarious things. One of which was the CCH senior pics where everyone was wearing glasses. "What? Are we challenging your artistic integrity? Ya don't DO anything" Lol. Anyways, we headed back to Commons, I drove over to Royal Lex where we watched the first half of the Bengals game. At halftime I drove home and listened to the game over the radio. Basically it was a perfect weekend capped off by a Bengal's win. When I got home my family went out to dinner at Max & Erma's which SUUUUCKED. The food took FOREVER to come and then wasn't that good and for the third time we swore we'd never go back. I drove back to UD and started studyin for O-chem but would get most of the work done the next day. (Ended up getting a B on the test!!!! YAY!)
Now though, I have a lot of religion to write so I will post about this weekend sometime later. CYA
