A/N: I still can't figure out if it's Resden or Dresden. I digress. *g*
Horatio's first life ended and his second life began the day he left New York City. One week out of the hospital after almost bleeding to death, and he was already looking to work again. He'd quit the NYC force because of corruption, and yet he knew somehow, at some time, the corruption would follow him to Miami. But for the time being, he was just happy to not be in that hospital room, thinking about any and everything.
The life he'd had in New York was over. He'd left everything behind him--gratefully, really. The only thing he'd kept with him was a small white card with a name and address carefully written on it. It was tucked in his wallet, and yet he hoped he'd never have to pull it out--to save her.
Jennifer Wilson had been part of his life starting the night her mother was killed by Walter Dresden, and yet while she was just beginning to live again, his own life--one he'd gotten used to--was ending.
