At the last minute, we were able to get good tickets to Green Day on August 3, 2010 at the Comcast Center in Hartford. All I have to say is that my rock concert- going career is over. I won't bother going to any more unless it's Green Day (or Lady Gaga and maybe a small number of other bands in this genre).
Who can top them? If you ever experienced one of their concerts, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Besides seeing them in concert, the highlight of the past year for me was sitting in the second row at American Idiot on Broadway in July and again in February. Billy Joe made a fine St. Jimmy in February, although the actor in July's performance was closer to what I envisioned him to look like. Overwhelmed, my tears flowed like waterworks during his solo Good Riddance. The next day I received an email with a recording of it from my show. This time tears did not flow. Instead, a spark of inspiration jolted me confirming that it's possible to create miracles when you follow your heart and never give up that vision. My creation may never end up as a Broadway play, but at least it's a start!
