BIGBANG 2015 WORLD TOUR [MADE]
LAS VEGAS
MANDALAY BAY EVENTS CENTER
OCTOBER 2, 2015
8:20-10:36 PM
My friend and I flew over to Las Vegas Friday morning. We got to Mandalay Bay by noon and the VIP's were already lining up. The staff member was very nice and explained to us that we would just line up for the show since we had seated tickets when doors opened at 7 pm. The GA pit people got to go downstairs to line up for soundcheck which started at 3 pm. He also told us that he saw the stage and it looked awesome. We were getting hyped up! These fans are hardcore.
By 5:30 pm, the merch was out. They were selling everything but the line was too long but little did we know that we hadn't seen anything yet. Of course the light sticks were sold out. Those boxes were huge! There was a long, long line to get into the show for ticketed customers. It went all the way down to the casino looping pass the restaurant area. We got in line after 7 pm but made it on time. Fortunately, there was a merch line inside. My friend got a black t-shirt and pens of Seungri and Daesung because that was all there was left. I got 2 sticker packs. We got tricked and scared because fans were screaming before we made it in but they were screaming for the pv's. The show didn't start until around 8:20 so we had time. They were showing their most recent pv's by the time we got in. Our seats were hecka good. We were pretty close to the center stage, not the main stage. We were on stage right, close by the moving stairs stage. By the time by friend came back from buying merch, they finished playing the "Loser" pv.
The stage WAS awesome. The show started with the beginning of the MADE short film. Once the show started, the main screen split in half. For most of the show, the screens were showing close ups of the boys but during one song, the screen on stage right was black. The stair stages connected and split over the pit. They sang mostly upbeat songs but there were some ballads. During "Loser" the boys were on a spinning stage of mirrors. During other songs, they were on rising/lowering vertical bars. The lighting was amazing. They shot confetti and fireworks during some songs. During TOP solo, the blast of fireworks behind him scared me.
It seemed like they wore the same pants throughout the concert. I only noticed it for Taeyang since he had ripped black pants. My friend mentioned that it'd be hard to change pants since they were so tight. TOP changed his pants though a few times since we was wearing whole suits. <3 Clearly, T.O.P. is my favorite and he looked good in everything. That cowboy hat and big chain, holding that cane with dog on top, but read on.
Their MC's/ments/comments were entirely in English and comparably long per person. There were lots of talking MCs, about 3. TOP called us "super sexy Vegas". You like? You like? We like! Sometimes I couldn't understand Seungri. Seungri and Taeyang talked so ghetto. LOL. TOP seemed so shy when he was talking, so different and cute from his usual confident, low-bass timbre self. So endearing!! I was amazed every single time he came out. It was surreal and unreal. How can anyone look that good?! During one MC he spoke half of it in Korean. I only understood the ending, "thank you". I just started studying Korean, okay? But the highlight of the night was when he performed "Doom Dada" in that Piet Mondrian suit. I've never appreciated art so much in my life. LOL.
A dude in the row in front of me looked at me because I was ROFLMAO at Daesung's MC when he was talking about seeing us and seeing him. He pulled up his bangs, showed his eyes, and looked like he was crazy or possessed on screen. I have to say I was really and particularly impressed by him. He could play drums and he was funny, silly, and charismatic. He's got charms. And he really rocked out to "Wings".
By the time the whole group came back together, it felt like I hadn't seen VI in forever during the solos because he went first. Of course everyone loved Taeyang's solo, "Eyes, Nose, Lips". GD performed 3 songs in a row. His solo and duets with TOP and Taeyang respectively. GD looked so small and petite but his presence was huge. He exuded an aura of confidence and badboyism. He came to our side the most! Seungri came over the least.
During the encore with "We like 2 party", the white confetti was like snow that covered the entire stage and seats. It fell on us, our clothes and bags. It even blocked our vision for a bit. My friend couldn't see Taeyang for a second. I couldn't see Seungri for a bit either. There were 2 encores. They bowed with the dance crew then performed their last song. They all bowed at the end which was interesting because I usually see bowing at Jpop lives, not Kpop shows. Some lucky fans got TOP's towel (after he wiped the beautiful sweat of his face on stage left of the big GA pit), Seungri's green jacket (somewhere on stage right as my friend saw but I didn't), and Taeyang's hat (stage right on the 1st level after Taeyang pointed to them!).
My most quoted member for the show has to be Seungri though. "You're killing it, man". And when TOP kept throwing out little hearts (aww!), Seungri explained to us that "it's a little/small heart, not give me some tips" (which sounded like 'chips'). My friend didn't know but I knew about it from watching ASC and U-KISS, mainly maknae Jun. Seungri and Daesung did some sexy dances, the latter to Michael Jackson. Seungri reluctantly took off his green jacket as we chanted "Take it off" following Taeyang's chanting. The show ended with a final video and the cartoon that said "The End". Then we knew it was really over. During the outfit changes, they showed solo video clips of each member.
Needless to say, it was absolutely amazing! The stage was awesome with split screens, moving stages, vertical columns, spinning mirrors, etc. From beginning to end, I was entertained. It was like watching a movie. I was thankful that we got good seats. But next time we're going to go for VIP!! I was screaming way too much at the beginning. I screamed for TOP like I've never screamed before for anyone. After the show was over, the roof of my mouth was sore. This has never happened before in all the concerts I've been to and it's been 15 years that I've been going to shows - half of my current life! Dang. I'm still looking for a more updated setlist as the only one I can find are from earlier shows in Asia that doesn't include "Zutter" and I 100% know that was performed in Vegas. GD and TOP were reading red sparkly suits for it.
To name a few songs that stuck out to me... Fantastic Baby, Tonight, Zutter, Good Boy, Loser, Sober, Haru Haru, If You. Of course they performed all the songs from MADE. They announced the album would be dropping very soon. What a great start to their US Tour and I'm so glad I got to be part of their first concert in Vegas! Can't wait for them to come back again. Of course we'll go! I kind of wanted them to perform some of their Japanese songs though like "Gara Gara Go!" and "Koe wo Kikasete". I love that latter song SO much!
Some other highlights:
-GD spanking Taeyang during "Good Boy"
-TOP throwing out little hearts throughout the night
-GD wearing that huge fuzzy hat
-TOP's huge emerald ring
-The outfits: white almost Victorian area long sleeved shirts, puffy army green jackets, black and white suits, TOP's outfits from some of the MADE pv's
To break it down to three words to describe the whole night...
Wow! Fantastic baby.
