evite helped me make up my mind about several different parties. In one case, I saw that a ton of people were going so I didn't feel bad about skipping out. In another, I saw that very few people were attending but one of them was someone I really wanted to see.

I like being able to see who else is attending when I make my decision, but beyond that I don't need a lot more service. The biggest issue, I think, is that everyone else is *also* waiting to see who will attend.

Doodle is an interesting (and incredibly useful) service that I suppose could be employed for this purpose.

Evite's OK too.

reply-all is key -- you're a good friend a smart marketer to do that.

he's right about phone calls, too.

I would say segment your list into the folks who definitely go and don't need much convincing, the people who probably won't go no matter what, and the folks who are 50/50.

Reach out to the sure-thing folks and secure them. Use that as your financial baseline.

You can pretty much throw away the bottom group, and focus your efforts on the middle, wishy-washy group.

Reach out to them individually, with customized messages specific to their needs. One-to-one communication will lead to much higher conversions.

I know this, because it's my job to ;)
