Based on the princess' personality, I believe that the princess chose the door with the tiger in it for her lover. In the story, 'The Tiger or the Lady' by Frank Stockton, the princess was described as "wild and reckless". It was a rash decision to have fallen in love with a servant even if she knew that for him, there would be hell to pay once their love was discovered. If she was reckless enough to have started the whole thing knowing of the consequences that awaited, then she obviously did not love him enough to stay out of the situation in the first place. Her actions show that she did care for the servant by finding which door hid the tiger and the lady, and she thought day and night about which one to signal to. Not too much is known of the princess' personality, except for the little description of her personality that can be used to work on. Based on the little that is known of the princess, I decided that the princess chose the tiger. She was selfish and couldn't bear to have her lover choose the tiger. I doubt that she was merciful enough to signal to the lady if she would have gotten him in a situation like that.
