“I thought I was trying to be strong, but really I was just running away from my feelings. Seeing this family together, so full of happiness and love, it reminded me of how I feel about Appa…..and how I feel about you.”
~
It was a normal day in Ba Sing Se, just near sunset. Katara and Aang had previously been out and about, on one of many dates that had occurred since they’d finally gotten together after the war had ended.
They strolled along hand-in-hand by the firelight fountain, one of the most beautiful nighttime spots in the city.
A smile permeated across Katara’s lips.
“This is always so beautiful…” she said, mesmerized.
“Not as beautiful as you,” Aang said as he released her hand to hug her waist, and pulled her closer. She giggled.
“Sorry,” Aang blushed, knowing how cheesy he was.
“I don’t mind,” Katara smiled.
He kissed her gently then led her over towards the fountain’s edge and they both sat. For a moment they simply looked at each other.
“Katara, there’s been something I’ve been meaning to tell you,” Aang admitted.
Katara’s stomach did a flip, and all of a sudden she was extremely nervous.
“What is it?” she asked.
Aang tightened his grip on her slightly and she leaned into him a bit.
“It’s just… Katara, we’ve been through so much together. All this time I’ve never seen anyone but you…”
“Plenty of girls have seen you,” she teased, but let him continue.
“Katara…” he looked into her eyes, reassuring her that he really never cared about the attention he’d gotten from anyone else. It made her feel warm and… loved.
He kissed her again, with a bit more passion this time. The kiss sent her brain whirling happily, even after they parted.
“What I’m trying to say is… I love you. And… I’ve loved you all this time. It means the world to me to have you here with me right now…” he trailed off gazing deeply into her eyes.
Katara hugged Aang’s neck and pulled him closely to her, and kissed him lovingly.
“I love you too…”
Katara was nearly about to cry happy tears. Aang had never told her he loved her before… And now that he had Katara had realized that she loved him too…

Yeahh, sorry for the random sucky fluff, but someone had to interject with some Kataang up in here. ^^;
(My first official Kataang lol)
