A few of my favorite things
These are some things that make me happy to be alive, no matter how shitty things are around me:
-Listening to Tom Waits at night in a dark room with a glass of whiskey. Now that's soul.
-The pop, crackle and snaps of old vinyl.
-Watching the ducks and geese at Wash Park
-The sound of cards being shuffled
-The smell and taste of oranges
-Getting paint on my fingers and under my nails
-The smell of oil/grease/sweat/grime when working on a car
-That cold sensation in your stomach you get from drinking ice cold water on a hot day
-That warm sensation in your stomach you get from drinking liquor in the cold
-The pine-tree smell of good marijuana.... and the high
