Swallowing the Chewing Gum of Pride
Last night was the first time in a good while I've been told that I was "too polite" to date.
Opening doors, using the "sir/ma'am" or "sug/doll/hon", offering to pay--that's just how I roll. Perhaps someone out there'll go for that.
I think I've decided that, if I don't get a raise or begin to be cross-trained by the end of the month, I may start looking around for another job. Then again, I may back away from this because a) I like the people I work with and b) I'm a big puss.
Plus, anymore I don't know what I'm doing with my education. Unfortunately my scholarship limits what I can major in, but anymore it seems like something along the lines of Liberal Studies would be perfect. But I'm considering getting my EMT certification over the summer (assuming I can find a program) and seeing how that works out....maybe I'll finally find something well-suited for me. Or I can just luck out and there'll be an opening at the fire academy.
