He can't know that he isn't the sun or the moon or even a match in the dark for me anymore. He can't know that there's someone more important.
He can't know that none of this was for him, that it was all for someone else. He can't know that I hesitated, that I almost left him here to rot, and when we make it over that wall and land on free soil, he can't know that it isn't him I'm celebrating for.
When he kisses me, hard and desperate, he can't know that I only do it because I can't say no, because I don't want to blow my cover.
