Happy Birthday, Dad
My father would be 86 today. Since he is as alive in my heart and memory as he was when he was physically alive, I thought I'd post him a Happy Birthday message.
Thanks, dear father, for teaching me about kindness by being kind. This gift you gave to me in my childhood grows more precious with each each passing day. You might never have realized the extraordinary effect you would have on my life, but I think somewhere in your deepest heart, you did know. Every time I hear DeBussy's "Claire de Lune," I think of you at the piano in our living room after dinner. What sweetness and beauty you suffused our lives with just by being who you were, who you are.
