2009 Post-Finale Challenge #1
Well people, we've finally reached the end of Prison Break. Some of us are devastated, some are over it, some are 'satisfied', some not. Regardless, we at pbhiatus_fic believe we all owe it to ourselves and to this stellar fandom to raise our glasses in salute to this show we loved with at least one final challenge.*
2009 Post-Finale Challenge #1: Ends and Means
What do I have to write?: Write a story (drabble, ficlet, 40 chapter WIP, whatever you like) in which the flash forward at the end of the 4.22 finale is altered. Sounds simple, right? Too simple, I say. So you have to pick one of two options:
1. Group Alternative Ending
2. Individual Alternative Ending
In Group, the beginning of the flash forward remains the same as canon: Lincoln is still at his scuba shop, Mahone is still with Lang but mailing that letter to Pam, Sucre is still saying goodbye to his daughter, C-Note is still staring at the sky (was that the best they could do for him?). Sara still meets up with the gang, Michael Jr. by her side, but instead of going to a grave, they go to....where? Your choice. Michael can be alive or not, your call.
In Individual, pick any character featured in the flash forward (living or dead), and give him or her a different ending. In this option, you can alter any or all of the flash forward for that particular character, but for the rest, canon applies.
Then what do I do?: Once you’re ready to share your story with the world, post it on your LJ (or wherever you normally post your fic), then post a link there in this thread. When you do so, please specify which option you chose. Challenges typically remain open for two weeks, but if you can’t make the deadline, please don’t stress. Let’s face it: the good news is, there's no rush!
