Wow I absolutely loved this.

The way you linked the past and the present but most especially, the way Linc got to envision the future of his loved ones.

And of course, reading it while listening to Amazing Grace was perfect. Thankyou

Thank you so much for your kind words. Being new to this, they meant so much to me. I was very nervous. :)

I'm thrilled that the addition of "Amazing Grace" made it more special.

Thank you!

That rendition of Amazing Grace is nothing short of heavenly. So beautiful. This is a sad AU, but it's so beautifully constructed it leaves a peaceful feeling, as I imagine you intended. Brilliant.

I'm so glad you liked Il Divo's rendition of "Amazing Grace." I am a big fan of the group. :)

Thank you for your encouraging words. It was sad, miss_mandy did ask for angst, but I did want the reader to have an overall sense of peace at the end, so I'm thrilled it worked.

Oh, Linc! *misses S1* I like to think that he did have these thoughts. That he had found peace and imagined his family moving on and being happy.

I'm delighted you liked it. I miss S1, too. :( I can't imagine meeting one's maker without some kind of personal closure. Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciated reading them.

Oh this was so beautiful. I love the way you wove the flashbacks in with the present day at Fox River, it flows so seamlessly. And I love Lincoln imagining the future for his loved ones as he tries to block out the pain of the nearing execution.

Michael is so often the focus of the show and in fics, that I sometimes feel like Lincoln is just pushed aside and thought of as "the muscle". But you showed us his love and his (inner) strength and gave us a look inside his head to see what he really thought while Michael was running around catching rats.

So sad, but I do love my angst! :D

Oh and this was perfect: Who wears a tan suit, anyway?

A nice little bit of humor mixed into the angst, it reminded me of Michael's tan suit/baseball hat combo from Season 2 that just looked so ridiculous.

Thank you so much for this fic, it was wonderful!

I am so delighted that you liked the story. You really challenged me, and I appreciate that, angst is definitely not my forte, so this was great fun. I started out with the thought of Judgement Day, but I am a huge Il Divo fan, and when I heard their rendition of "Amazing Grace," I couldn't get it out of my head.

I literally sat in a restaurant in Las Vegas, listening to the song on my ipod over and over again, scribbling notes on napkins! People looked at me like I was a nut, and one man told me it was like Bob Dylan's song lyrics at the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame." I took that as a compliment. :D

I did hope that Lincoln's thoughts would offer him some solace during this painful, nearly unbearable point in his life, and I tried very hard to focus on his inner strength and pride. I do love Michael, but I have always found this to be a story of an incredible bond between two brothers. I purposely left out any MiSa, but secretly hoped I made you tear-up anyway ( ... )

What a powerful, well rounded peice. You did an amazing job of showing the past, present, and future, making it hopeful rather than sad. I love peices that add depth to Lincoln's character! Brilliant job.

Thank you for your kind words. I am so happy that the switches between past, present and future worked. And that you found it hopeful is music to my ears! It is exactly what I was striving for. I really appreciate your comments.
