It's not the funnest time I've had. But then I just spent the evening with a bunch of recently-turned-40 friends and they were all pretty nonplussed by the whole thing. Then again they're all in stable, happy relationships and getting cozy with the idea of growing old together. Me, I'm turning over miles of running and biking every week, doing my sit-ups and push-ups, fighting like mad to maintain my 30something fitness and looks. What's next, botox?
Enh. I'm closing in on 40, and life is completely disrupted. I'm jealous (no joke)of the folks who are where they're supposed to be at this point in life.
I don't know if having a kid at this point would be comforting or just remind me that I'm getting older. No idea. I'm decidedly mixed when I talk to my buddy's college-age daughter, and remember when she was running around topless like any good 3 year old.
Bob I had no idea you had a daughter at all, much less one that's about to want to start dating. You're so screwed.
