so today an very well-known artist on DeviantArt posted this link in her journal.

http://stores.ebay.com.au/The-Pixel-Princess_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQdptZ0QQftidZ2QQpZ4QQtZkm

someone has browsed DeviantArt, taken lots of the most popular artwork,
and is now selling these images as transfers in their ebay shop.

please, everyone, be aware.

art is not public property.

not everything that you find on the internet can be reposted somewhere else.

people work hard, and you cannot take their images and sell them WITHOUT PERMISSION, WITHOUT CREDIT, on ebay.
many people have already bought these transfers and the artists have recieved no royalties.
the artists don't even KNOW about this.

this is called  art theft.

nothing really can be done about it,
so please, please, please do your bit.

do not repost art images without permission from the author anywhere on the internet.
do not try and make money from selling others' art.
and, most importantly, if you see any of this going on, send emails to the author, to the artist, to the administrator of the site. whatever.

what can seem like a generic photograph or a graphic design is the product of someone's hard work.
make sure you're not stealing someone's art.

thankyou.
