(no subject)
so lets update everyone on whats been going on in the last few months:
1) i moved to denver,co and am dancing in colorado ballets studio company.
2) our first show was le corsaire in early october and i performed the roles of merchant man (yes a man...) and also jardin corps. jardin kicked my ass and so did loreita(the ballet mistress) and aldar (the choreographer). they were pretty tough on me but i managed to do very very well in the shows and bended enough to appease them. le corsaire went great and not to mention my parents came out for a few days and saw me perform. my dad was so happy to see that since he hasnt seen me dance in 2 years. corsaire was a blast!
3) we had our second show, dracula, in late oct. i played the part of a wolf...the costumes were amazing and the dancing was easy and so fun. plus the director of milwaukee who came to stage it on us (he already knew me bc he offered me a job last season) was really interested in me and loved me. so im hoping hardcore he will like me again come audition season.
4) ive been working telesales for colorado ballet and i love it. sales is kinda my niche i think and im just really happy getting paid 8/hr doing nothing and getting commission for selling tickets. yay!
5) im doing a lot with the studio company too. we performed synchronicity, a contemporary work, and i nailed all my turns. despite having suffered from a concussion days earlier.
6) speaking of the concussion...i fell doing pas de trois and gave myself a double cue concussion...the worst kind possible. i kept dancing (not what you should do) and unfortunately it made my situation worse. i eventually went to the er and the dr. made me take a week off completely. if i fall again in the span of a wk. i will most likely end up in the hospital with brain swelling and either suffer from brain damage or death....SCARY
7) im finally dancing again and hopefully the dr. will give me the a-okay to continue
8) our next show is nutcracker (of course) and im doing maid, snowflakes, and waltz of the flowers. im doing all the shows of snowflakes and hopefully half for flowers. i know im at least doing opening weekend of flowers, snow, and maids....eeeekkkk. scary, fun, and such an honor!
9) me and mitch have been having quite a bit of problems lately...our relationship longevity unfortunately is still yet to be determined
10) i cant wait to go home in dec. i really really really want to see my family and friends. im so lonely out here....i really have like no true friends. so im really homesick but the season is almost over ...kinda. so i cant wait to come home for 4 months!!
