Why you need to read this: When I first found the Prison Break fandom I wrote a story with a vaguely similar theme to this one; but that's where any comparison ended. Mine was bland, silly and excessively plotty...then I found this and realised this was the kind of fic I wished I'd written. I found it heartbreakingly sad and it's stayed in my memory ever since.
