Ptown!!! / Office Adventure
Five days til Ptown!!
So you know what that means...
Gym every day during lunch followed by a salad at my desk.
Then gym again after work followed by a sensible dinner comprised of mucho veggies, a meat, and very little starch.
It's kinda fun!
I've been doing the gym regularly for about a month and a half, but now its go time.
Don't worry - I am eating. I won't pull a DJ Tanner and collapse off the stairmaster or anything.
Also - had a mini-adventure during today's lunchtime gym-ing.
At 12:15, I get in an express elevator. I'm the only one in it - should be non-stop, from the 10th floor to the lobby. I get to the ground floor and the door opens an inch.
Semi-freaking out, I start pressing the "door open" button - followed by the "door close" button - followed by 10 (in hopes that I would go from whence I came and just get on another elevator).
The elevator finally moves :sigh of relief:
I get to 10 and the same thing happens - AN INCH.
Oy.
SO I go back down to the lobby - same story. Suddenly a woman's like "HEY - THERE'S SOMEONE IN THERE!!!"
Hooray. Attention.
This jacked building security guard comes over to try and pry the doors open...nothing.
All of his 6'7" black mightiness could not get the frickin doors to open.
He then tries to close to doors. Despite my attempt to tell him that it's the same deal on the other floors, the doors close once more and I'm on my way.
The elevator proceeds to climb, stopping at every floor - where I meet similar throngs of people who share momentary concern for my well-being - until the very top floor (18).
Miraculously, the doors open perfectly on 18.
I'd never been to this top floor before. Everything was abnormally bright and white. Heaven, clearly.
So I press the down button and get in a DIFFERENT elevator. Success.
I finally get to the lobby at around 12:40
25 minutes of that fisaco and I was off the gym.
I was still in the building that whole time. Fuck them - I needed a full time at the gym - Ptown's in FIVE DAYS.
My lunch hour started at 12:40 today.
