election day

thank GOD it's here... which means, tomorrow it will be over!!!

i am seriously soooo sick of hearing about it.  i feel so... so... ANNOYED at all the people that assume i haven't a brain of my own, by demanding i vote for this candidate, or that.  Even worse, are the people that so dearly love their candidate of choice, that they get seriously defensive if they even THINK you are hinting at criticism towards their candidate.

i guess the reason i find it all so obnoxious is 3-fold (at least... there may be more deep rooted reasons than i know).

Firstly, (is that an actual word?  it sounds so wierd) the majority of the general public are uninformed, pseudo-intellectuals, that base their decisions on hearsay, smear-campaigns, and worst of all - party... as if party actually means anything today.

which leads me to my second reason.  what we have in america is an ILLUSION of choice.  when it comes to democrat vs. republican, those two terms USED to mean something.  today they mean VERY LITTLE, if anything at all.  in the minds of many (especially the much older, seasoned voters) "republican" represented seperation and balance of powers, less federal gov. and stronger states rights, conservative ("Christian") views, and was considered the "rich man's" party, based on its financial policies.  "democrat" used to be equated to a stronger, more centralized gov., liberal views, and support of "the working man", underprivilaged, ethnic and religious minorities.  today, they're just words that a candidate stands behind, based on financial support for their campaign.  there are no defining factors for a candidate based on their political views... they just join a club, and that's what they are labled as.  when it really comes down to it, they are all in the pockets of the big money that funded their campaign... opposing sides may even be in the SAME pockets... at anyrate, they aren't going to act based upon the needs and desires of their constituants (read "average american"), but rather based on the commands of the corprate giants that helped put them in office.  what they say in their campaign and what they actually believe may be two completely differnt things... the third completely different thing, being what they actually DO in office, based on what their funders require of them.

finally, (closely related to my second reason) there is this idea that "every vote counts".  the thing that blows my mind, is seeing this attitude from many of my floridian friends... HELLO!!!  was anyone even awake during the last two elections?  all the drama and scandal that happened did little to encourage my belief in the democratic process.  how many servicemen, overseas, didn't even have their votes counted, before the results of the election were revealed?  SERVICE MEN!!!  should their votes not count as much as (if not more than) the rest of ours?  plus... "electoral college" LOOK IT UP!  its such and outdated system... and then there's conspiracy.  yes, at heart, i'm a conspiracy theorist... and i FIRMLY believe that the future of our nation is already decided by the global elitists.  bilderburg group.  'nuff said.  what THEY don't know, however, is that the future of our nation is already decided... by YHWH!  and people, i hate to tell you, but the whole democratic process is not even in the SLIGHTEST bit biblical.

and THAT, my friends, is why I DON'T VOTE!  but you go ahead, and believe you're making a difference... stand up for what's good... or at least stand up for your wallet!  but don't shove your "every vote counts" BS down my throat!  thanks.  (do i sound irate?  i might be... just a little... sorry).

election, voting
