I would like to add, in the name of The Public Interest, and if it's okay with the author of this journal, the following points:

----------
- Don't expect the kind of manic levels of activity experienced, say, last year. We're talking two interstate teams here. I'm actually considering attending Punt Road Oval on the Saturday, because there could well be a melancholy air about the event that would be rare and beautiful. A crowd full of Victorians who stand to lose no matter who wins. It's rare that a football crowd can be described first and foremost as *glum*. Add to this the booze which is available in fenced-off portions of the 'wet' area within Punt Road Oval (free entry!), and mass-scale depression and displacement may well bubble over. These are the reasons why Saturday might be a rare jewel of an occasion, and certainly a great day to be out and about in.
----------

----------
- Car/on-foot access to the MCG has changed from last year. If your plans are usually concrete from year to year, I advise calling Ian Fisher at the City of Melbourne on 9658 8611 for any enquiries as to entrance to the MCG Secure Parking carpark, or of course, routes for on-foot access.
----------

----------
- Commuters should also bear in mind that tomorrow, the MCG Grand Final Parade is taking place in the city.

Ah. My that is comprehensive indeed. It's okay indeed!
Thank you for adding value to my somewhat *ahem* ranty post.
