Once again!

I'm actually kind of shocked that it's Friday today. I actually had to ask Andy if it was about a couple hours ago, because I seriously thought it was Thursday! Well, with that in hand, I have to figure out what's in store! So far, things are figuring like this...

After work today, I believe Andy and I are going to hit up a driving range. He hasn't golfed or hit any balls since we last when to Shores a couple weeks ago. He also had an "accident" in Colorado last weekend, so he's just recovering from that. I think he's finally OK to attempt to swing a golf club! I don't know where we are going to go, but Marino Golf Center on Jefferson by Metro Beach is looking like the place.

Yesterday, after work, Renee and I went up to Salt River to visit my cuz since he works in their pro shop (bowling). I had won a Brunswick Punisher bowling ball quite some time ago, and they were interested in trading it for a ball that would fit my needs better. I wanted a ball that hooked a little less then the one I throw now, so Brandon pointed me in the direction of the new Tropical Storm. I ended up trading my Punisher for the Storm, the Storm's drilling, and a re-drilling of a ball that Renee had and didn't have to come out of my pocket for any of it! How sweet is that!

Afterward, we went across the street to hit a bucket of balls. I thought I finally had my swing flaws corrected, but the bucket I shot proved me wrong. I still have a long way to go! I just want to be driving a golf ball half way decent for Sunday when Ed and I go to Bello Woods and shoot 18.

Not much else has been happening this week. Oh! The monthly was last weekend, but I really won't get into too much detail on that. All I know, is that I didn't make it to the final table AGAIN, which makes three months in a row. I really have to pick it up, or change something! Pete ended up winning, for the second month in a row! We had 20 show up for the tournament, so at least we had a good turnout. About 4 regulars couldn't make it, and we still pulled 20!

I'll be going to Soaring Eagle next weekend, and will be looking to sit down at my first "real" live poker table for some good cash. So far, I've only done online poker and small time cash games and tournaments with friends, but this will be different. The stakes will be different too, as $20 won't buy me in. The lowest limit they start with is a $5/$10 limit format. That means out of the 4 betting rounds in hold'em, the first two rounds you can bet $5 and raise $5 at a time, and the second two rounds it goes up to $10. If you add it up, you know you need a nice chunk of change to begin with. I'll be bringing $500 to sit with, and hopefully that's good enough. I really wanted $750, but I didn't want to come home too broke in case I lost it all.

I decided to sit down at an online $5/$10 table last night. I dropped $200 in, and sat with it all, and to my surprise I was up to $580 for the night after only 2 hours of play! I played it pretty good, and had the occassional shitty player betting into me, but all and all I was happy with how I played. I've played $5/$10 online before, but didn't really know much about the fixed limit part of hold'em, but I do now and it shows. Hopefully I'll be able to play the same, and also get some of the hands at the Eagle like I was getting online!

I have a LOT of yard work that needs to be done, but for most of it I don't have the equipment to do it! I wish I could just tear out my whole front yard and back and just start over! That old lady that lived there before me must have given up on the yard for YEARS before she decided to sell! LOL At least I know I'll never be bored; it's just hard getting my ass out there to do it! I need someone with a big truck, a couple chains, a whole day to themselves and a thirsty mouth for some beer and we could make a day of it! :) Hey, I tried!

I have Thursday and Friday off next week. I think Brandon and I are going to shoot a round of 18 on Friday morning, but I think I want to get a round in on Thursday too! It's not too often that I can golf on a weekday morning! If you're interested, let me know. I have a BUNCH of buy one get one free coupons for a lot of different places! It'll be cheap!

Old school....'nuff said.
