We're having a birthday party for Eli. It's evolved into in a grown up cookout and I'm very excited. My brother promises to have the deck built in time, I'm motivated to get some long awaited work on the house and yard completed. I miss the parties we had last summer, baby snug in bed, Maya running around with a pack of kids until she collapses, filthy and exhausted.
The sad part is that we decided it would be best to board the puppy at the vet, there's just no way she'll be able to control herself around so many kids. She still can't come outside when Maya is playing the yard, she is so incredibly hyper and bigger than she realizes.
Please don't look at those awful curtains. This is our family room, which has been declared "Kevin's Space". It is the only room that has white walls and the fugly curtains that the prior owners left behind.
Everyone we've talked to says that Boxers are notoriously hyper puppies and that she'll calm down eventually. I had no idea it would be like this. I know that having a house full people would freak her out and I couldn't keep her in her crate, I'd feel terribly guilty and she wouldn't understand. Instead she'll go the vet and get a bath and have her nails trimmed. I'll be able to relax at the party and not have to worry about who she's jumping on or barking at.
In other news, allergies suck.
