So I just wrote this big entry about how much I hate MTV and the awards show and how it upsets me. But then I erased it. I don't even know why I watched it, but I fast-forwarded through most of it ( Read more... )

Why do you hate Pink? She seems so less vapid than Jessica Simpson or Britney. Her new record is good, I think. She has a song written to the President that is pretty poignent. Her songs are more empowering for the 14 year old girl, then a song about, I don't know, roller skates or something. Whatever Jessica and Britney sing about. Pink isn't afraid of getting in your face and speaking her mind. I admire that. It's better than crying on Dateline because you're a bad mother.

because she speaks her mind... to mtv. she used to be one of them, the masses that were on mtv. nows shes hip, and talks shit about the artisits on mtv, while still appearing on mtv. she doesnt fool me, is my complaint i guess. britney is much better. at least she flaunts it and knows she does. pink is a fucking phoney.

Hmm. I can see where you're coming from. We can blame it on being young and wanting to be famous, and in order to do that, you have to listen to the majors and to MTV.

But now, she's older and she realizes all the bull shit and she wants to try to make a difference, pop songs or not. But who better to speak to, than the MTV audience? The people who don't watch MTV and are the KEXP listeners or whatever already know the message she's trying to send.

Britney is just pathetic.

OK Go was the best (of the twenty-five minutes that I watched). I think they might have slowed down the treadmills for the stage, but still really cute.

I suspect that Pink is (or was) a man.

Everyone can hate Pink, I don't care. I like her. And she's married to Carey Hart!

OK Go entertained me. I'm a sucker for their stupid dances.

Beyonce really scares me.

I don't hate Pink, I just think that she's a little manly looking.

i thought the whole sarah silverman thing was really uncomfortable. it would have been fine if it had been about more than one celebrity.
