Hi Folks!  Happy New Year indeed!  :-)

As my flist knows, I've had a terribly difficult time posting this oh-so-long-overdue update, but thanks to the efforts of damos, (and the help of mithen and the good advice of kawahori - thanks muchly, guys!) I'm managing to do so at last.  As some of you know, I'd attempted to post Part 15 here last week, but only managed, ( Read more... )

I was awaiting this new part so eagerly and then I had to wait to read it because of RL demands. But now that I've finally been able to read it at ease, I can't tell you how much I loved it! It's awesome!

Of course my heart breaks for poor Clark, having to go through those horrific nightmares with no respite. I hope Bruce does really care for Clark, not only in words, and this encounter can bring some comfort to Clark's troubled mind and soul. I doubt he'll ever need a friend more than he does now.

The dialogue was superb, as were the descriptions of the reactions of the characters. The scene is described in such a complete and vivid way that I can see and hear both Clark and Bruce with more clarity than if I were reading a comic book. I'm always impressed at the depth of the knowledge you have of the characters and at the talent with which you make them alive.

I can't wait to read the second part! I have to find the right moment because I don't want to hurry through it. I want to savour every word!

Once again, thank you for this extraordinary story!

Oh, Carol, you have made my night. It's great to see you around! *hugs* (and believe me, I know all about RL issues preventing one from being online! No need to apologize to ME, not ever.)

I'm so, so warmed by your wonderful words here and in your comment on the second half of this part! Thank you so very much! :-)

You're right in that Clark has rarely needed a true friend as much as he does now. Thankfully, even if Bruce struggles with showing it at times, he certainly fits the bill.

I'm so glad that you find my descriptions apt and satisfying! I do strive to create a clear picture with words, especially with this story, and especially with this scene. It wasn't always easy - particuarly since so much of the drama and conflict in this Part are very much internal. So I'm very happy that you were able to visualize what was happening. *cheers*

I'm also overjoyed that you believe I've got them both in-character! I was just confessing to Jen how much I worried about this chapter, and that readers might think Superman especially would seem a little out of character, due to his emotional response to the trauma he's dealing with. (almost weeping? But he's a man, and Superman at that!) But it was important (and a very fine line to walk) to try to show just how much these 'visions' are doing to him, and how they would most likely utterly incapacitate a lesser man. So, I'm quite relieved at the response I'm getting!

I'm very honoured you find this to be an 'extraordinary' story! *blushes* I have worked on it for YEARS, (on and off, but still!) so it really means a lot to me when you (and others) kindly give it not only your attention (especially when there are so many truly amazing fics out there by amazing - and more 'around' - authors!) but such sweet commentary. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :-)

*hugs Carol again*
