Happy April! I've always loved April, despite the fact that it tends to be snowy. I'm happy.

For some reason Pottery Barn sends me catalogs, though I've never ordered anything from them, and I don't intend to. I love looking through the catalog though, not to look at home furnishings, but because of the highly questionable taste of the inhabitants of these supposed dwelling spaces. On the coffee tables are art books. Yes, there's a lot of clicheed stuff like Cezanne, Da Vinci, Van Gogh, etcetera, but there's also a lot of books that I certainly wouldn't mind having. What really amuses me are the DVD's. In this den of pretense, Bedazzled, Body Double, Legally Blonde, One Million Years B.C., Nine Months, Showgirls(!), and I'm Gonna Get You Sucka(!!) are preferred viewing. Also good are the displays of giant chalkboards people can order to organize their busy schedules with stuff like, "Golf with Tom and June, Sat.?", "Tennis lesson sign-ups SOON", and, my personal favorite, "Katie's opening, 6-9". I'm sure Pottery Barn means this as in a gallery showing, but I instantly thought, "Wow, it sounds like Katie's going to be sore the next day."

There is mega-roommate drama going on. I'm happily not involved.
