I made some scale blocks for use in my piano studio. I got the idea from a collegue who bought some for $30 + shipping. I thought, with a little ingenuity, I could make some for half the price. I forgot how much fun painting is! The hard part was doing the lettering, sharps and flats. I had some stencils to use for the lettering but the sharps and flats were done freehand. The white blocks are for the white keys and the black ones are for the black keys. It makes a great visual for building scales.
I also made a set of musical dice for a piano game I came up with.
