Title: Realization of a Fantasy
Pairing: PiDa, one-sided Ryoda
Genre: Romance, Drama
Disclaimer: I own nothing but this story and the one-stanza poem in the summary.
Summary: Don’t know how to summarize it but through this:
Dream that it was love and not a thing to pass time
Dream of the time he was no one else’s but mine
Hope not that in my slumber I would wake
And find myself in nothing but heartbreak
A/N: That stanza popped into my head when I listened to the song
Hey Daydreamer by SomeDayDream.
romapi requested for this songfic in one of our exchanges. Girl, hope you like it. I wrote it based on how I interpreted the song.
Yamashita Tomohisa has always been in the list of the best and the most while Ueda Tatsuya, although not particularly unknown, has yet to be noticed and recognized. And it’s for that same reason that Tatsuya never had the courage to confess his feelings.
It was just like any other day. Yamapi is hanging out in their dressing room to visit his best friend, Akanishi Jin. And as usual, Tatsuya tried to subtly watch him. He almost jumped when Yamapi suddenly looked his way and caught him staring. He looked away, face as red as a tomato. He buried his face in the magazine he was pretending to read until he was sure that Jin and Yamapi has left the room.
Yamapi was surprised to catch Tatsuya looking at him. He blushed at the thought. He has been crushing on Tatsuya for the longest time. But he cannot make himself confess. Ueda Tatsuya is a prince-choosing the job he wants, only doing things he loves which is music-who would not even bother giving a pauper like Yamashita Tomohisa a second look. So, when he caught Tatsuya looking at him, he got the courage to confess. Maybe there’s a chance…
Tatsuya was the last one in their dressing room, as usual. That’s why he was surprised when he heard a knock. He opened the door and find Yamapi fidgeting.
“Eh?! Yamashita-kun? Jin already went home,” Tatsuya said.
“Ano… Umm… I wanted to talk to you,” he said.
Tatsuya nodded and led Yamapi inside the room. “What is it that you want to talk about?”
“Ueda-kun, I have always liked you. Please be my boyfriend,” Yamapi confessed then bowed.
Tatsuya giggled to hide his surprise and to recover his composure. “I have always liked you too,” he said while blushing.
“Majide?!”
Instead of answering, he threw his arms around Yamapi and they kissed.
That night, they spent the night in Tatsuya’s apartment. Both not believing that their dreams have finally came true, they want to spend the time together longer to make sure it’s all real.
Yamashita Tomohisa is handsome, talented and popular. That also means, that girls-and occasionally, boys-throw themselves at him. That also means that he has an image to protect to keep his popularity. And it causes Tatsuya to be insecure especially when Yamapi refuses to declare that they are together. On the other hand, Ueda Tatsuya, being prince-like, has a lot of admirer and suitors-boys and girls alike. It would only take one smile to make someone fall in love with him. That means more rival for Yamapi because his boyfriend tends to be too friendly.
It was another weekend and the best friend trio decided to go out. But unlike other weekends, Jin invited Tatsuya with them. Jin, Ryo and Yamapi are already in the club sipping their drinks when Tatsuya walk in looking as elegant and hot as ever. He was wearing tight jeans that emphasized his shapely bums and lean legs. The shirt he’s wearing is a little too big and it drops from his shoulder every so often. His hair was tied in a messy bun.
“Tat-chan!”
It was Ryo who first spotted him as he walk into the club. Tatsuya flashed his megawatt smile in response and walked briskly to sit beside Ryo.
“Jin invited me,” he said.
“Glad you can make it this time. I’ve always invited you out but you turn me down as always,” Ryo teased and pouted. Tatsuya laughed at him and ruffled his hair.
“I didn’t know you two are getting along well,” Yamapi said, a little jealous of the fact that Ryo and Tatsuya can freely joke around each other.
“Pi, that was a staged fight. We’ve grown old enough to go pass that. In fact, I’ve been trying to convince this hime to go out with me and be my boyfriend but he always turned me down,” Ryo said.
Tatsuya blushed at that declaration. “Mou~ Ryo-chan, stop teasing me, ne? I won’t invite you over if you don’t stop.”
Yamapi was getting furious. He didn’t know that his own best friend has the hots for his boyfriend. And worse than that, he visits Tatsuya in his apartment with his boyfriend oblivious of the fact that Ryo has been hitting on him. Yamapi still couldn’t believe that he’s going out with Tatsuya for six months now. A part of him wants to declare to the world that he is his but another part warns him that it’s just a matter of time before the prince realize he fell in love with a pauper. And it was that reason why he insisted to keep their relationship a secret. But knowing that his best friend might take Tatsuya away, he just can’t sit and watch it happen. But before he could retort something, a girl sprawled herself on his lap.
“Hi! Would you like to dance with me?” she said seductively. But she didn’t give him a chance to respond, she’s already dragging him to the dance floor. He doesn’t want to be impolite. It would be bad publicity so he went along with her.
Now, it was Tatsuya’s turn to be jealous. He’s livid and can’t help to raise an eyebrow which didn’t go unnoticed from Ryo who has been oggling at him.
“That’s a normal thing when we go out,” Ryo explained.
“So, would I expect girls to come dropping by and pick you guys up?” Tatsuya asked.
“Just Jin and Pi. I don’t go for girls,” he replied.
Tatsuya drank his beer in one go. He knows that being with Yamapi would be hard. But he didn’t realize it would be like trying to catch a falling star. He’s doubting himself again. Maybe Yamapi got tired of him already. He was preparing himself for the imminent break up but a part of him still hopes that what is happening is not a prolonged dream that would only cause him heartbreak. Maybe that’s why Yamapi doesn’t want anyone to know about them. He finished his beer and grabbed another one.
Jin was in the dance floor too grinding with two girls while Yamapi politely excused himself from the girl he’s dancing with and went back to their table. There, he found Ryo fusing over a wasted Tatsuya.
“Pi, could you help me? I think he’s trying to knock himself out. He’s been drinking non-stop,” Ryo pleaded, worry evident in his eyes.
Yamapi sighed. “Could you get some sparkling water?” Ryo got up to do what he was told without any questions.
“Tat-chan, that’s enough,” Yamapi said.
“Why? Why do you care?! Go dance with those girls and fuck with them! I don’t fucking care! Maybe I’ll go home with Ryo tonight,” Tatsuya said, tears brimming in his eyes.
Yamapi cannot retort anything. He knows that it’s his fault Tatsuya got himself drunk. Ryo returned with the water which he forced Tatsuya to drink despite of the latter’s protests.
“I’ll take him home,” Yamapi said.
“No, I’ll take him home,” Ryo countered.
“You didn’t bring a car, I did. And I didn’t drink so I can drive,” Yamapi reasoned. Ryo relented but told him to make sure Tatsuya would be okay.
‘Of course he’d be okay. I’m his boyfriend and I will definitely take care of him,’ Yamapi said in his mind. It was one of those times that he wants to put his foot down and finally declare that they are together. But then again, his pride and career came into picture again.
Yamapi brought Tatsuya in his apartment and laid him down on the bed. He changed the latter’s clothes and forced into him another glass of water.
“Tomo,” Tatsuya called as he was walking out of the room. He turned around and saw tears streaming down his face. Yamapi rushed to his side and hugged him.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” he asked.
“Just break up with me please. Don’t hurt me this way,” Tatsuya said as he sobbed.
“No! Don’t talk like that. I just don’t want to have a bad image that’s why I danced with those girls. I will never break up with you. I’m sorry if I hurt you,” Yamapi explained.
“I know that your career is important to you and I don’t want to make you choose. That’s why I’m letting you go. I know it’s just some sick, crazy dream to think that you would want me and you would stay with me,” he cried.
Yamapi realized that his doubts and insecurities would be the reason for him to lose Tatsuya. He hugged Tatsuya tighter and cried.
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just can’t believe that you love me too. I’m always thinking that one day you would realize that I’m not worth it and you would leave. It was pride telling me to keep it our relationship a secret so that no one would know when you leave me. I’m so sorry,” he explained in between his sobs.
Tatsuya laughed and Yamapi looked at him like he’s gone over the edge.
“How stupid can we get? We hurt each other because we thought we would just leave each other when we love each other so much. Isn’t that crazy? We wasted our six months together by walking on thin ice, ne?”
Yamapi smiled and kissed Tatsuya’s temples. “We sure are. From now on, no more holding back; we’ll make up for those six months we’ve wasted. Let’s just say, our fantasies has come to life, ne?”
“Un! And there’s one more fantasy I would like to make reality,” Tatsuya said before capturing Yamapi’s lips in a heated kiss.
