Summary: Ueda Tatsuya thought there’s zero percent chance his love will be returned. So he thought the best way is to move on with his life. He thought he’d be satisfied just to see him and love him from afar. Nishikido Ryo, on the other hand, thought that he hates Ueda Tatsuya-or at least that’s what he wants other people to think-when in fact, he’s in love with Tatsuya. He thought that since he’s been cruel to the older man, there would never be a chance for him to love him back. Oh, how wrong they both were!

CHAPTER 3
Ryo followed Tatsuya when the older man left the Jimusho. ‘I wonder who he would be meeting,’ Ryo thought. But when he saw that Tatsuya was pulling up to the hotel driveway, he didn’t have the heart-or rather his heart can’t take-to know who Tatsuya would be meeting so he drove off when Tatsuya left his car to the valet.
‘Is he really in a relationship? Is it serious enough for him to meet him in a hotel? Hasn’t it crossed his mind that someone might have spotted him and rumors would start going around?! That stupid Hime! Ryo thought. But after a while he sighed and stopped the car. ‘Who am I kidding? I know that’s not the real reason I’m upset. I know there’s no way Hime would even look my way after all of the things I’ve said to him. But I would have wanted to have a chance to show him how I feel. Is it really hopeless now?’ Ryo had millions of questions running in his mind that he jumped when his phone suddenly rang.
“Moshi moshi,” Ryo answered half-heartedly.
Yamapi, the person on the other line, lifted the phone from his ear and looked at the screen to see if he was calling the right number. Because any other time of the day, Ryo would have a not-so-polite greeting to anyone who calls him. It could range from “What?!” to “This better be important!” But the Ryo that he was hearing right now sounds defeated. As if his Japan-sized ego was deflated.
“Ryo-chan?” Yamapi asked tentatively.
“Hai~ What do you want?” Ryo replied. ‘Can’t you just leave me to wallow on my own misery? I’d rather not talk to anybody right now,’ he added in his mind.
“I’m just checking to see if you’re still going to drink with us. We’re at the usual bar.”
“Yeah, fine! I’d be there in a few minutes.”
A few minutes later, Ryo walked in and go straight to the bar to order the strongest liquor they have. Ryo didn’t say a word to anybody just a nod here and there as some sort of a greeting.
“What’s with Ryo-chan?” Jin asked Yamapi.
“I don’t know. He’s been so down since he got here. And when I called him earlier, he sounded like he’s about to cry.”
“Do you know where he went before he came here?”
“Nope. He just told he just needs to go somewhere.”
A few hours have passed and Ryo has been downing shot after shot. He just sits in the corner and drink. Not bothering to talk to anybody. Yamapi, being a good friend that he is, sat beside Ryo to know what’s been bothering his friend.
“Ryo, what's wrong? You came late and went straight to drowning yourself in alcohol. You won't even talk with anybody,” YamaPi asked concerned.
“Nothing,” answered a drunken Ryo. He slumped on the couch and stared in space. ‘Who would he be meeting in a hotel? Is he in a relationship? He seemed to be really happy while talking on the phone. He even told that person “I love you.” Hime, I want to tell you I'm in love with you. Would you even listen to me? Would you believe me?’
Ryo passed out while thinking of his hime. YamaPi shook his head when he saw Ryo's condition and brought him home.
“Hime~,” Ryo murmured as YamaPi lay him down his bed.
YamaPi shook his head and sighed. “Just confess, Ryo. It shouldn't be that hard. You're just hurting yourself more for being so stubborn.”
YamaPi left Ryo's apartment and closed the door behind him.
Ryo woke up with a grunt. He was surprised to wake in his own apartment. He didn't even remember going home. The only thing he remembered was having his heart break into pieces when he saw Tatsuya entered a hotel. He needed to numb his senses so he went to the bar where his friends are and drowned his sorrow. It was bad idea because not only did he have an undeniable pain in his heart, his head ache as hell too! Fortunately, the hangover will pass but not the other one. He grudgingly stood up and prepared for work.
On the other side of the city, Tatsuya woke up refreshed after the relaxing massage he got last night. He found Katrina cooking breakfast.
“Morning, Kat! Hmm… that smells good!” he greeted after giving a peck to her cheek. “I feel so special! With you cooking for me and all,” he teased.
Katrina just smiled at him while handing him a breakfast platter. “I had Kento get a wardrobe from the boutique for you to change into. It's laid out on the couch. Choose what you prefer.”
“Thanks! Maybe I'll move in with you so that I can have good food and be pampered every day,” joked Tatsuya.
“No, thanks! I prefer to pamper you once in a while so that you'll miss me. And be nicer to me,” Katrina replied and stuck her tongue out.
A few minutes later, Tatsuya is driving towards the Jimusho. He is in a good mood and greeted everybody he met along the hallway with his bright smile.
He got into the elevator just before it closed. “Ah, Nishikido Ohayou!” he greeted the other occupant of the elevator.
Ryo grunted and glared at Tatsuya. “Did you know that you just ruined my day?! Seeing your face the first thing in the morning!”
Tatsuya hung his head and murmured an apology. He pressed for the nearest floor and got off when the elevator opened leaving a shocked Ryo. ‘Shit! Me and my poison-tongue! Why can’t I have a civil conversation with you? No wonder you chose someone else. It’s that hime’s fault anyway. Why do I have to see you so happy while I feel so miserable because I'm not the reason you are happy!’ He thought while a single tear fall.
On the other hand, Tatsuya climbed the stairs to their dressing room while thoughts run through his mind. ‘He’s angry with me again and he looked so sad. What's wrong with him? Will there ever be a time I can talk with you normally? I wish I can make you smile. But you don't even want to see me.’ He sighed. He was worried about Ryo but didn't let it dampen his good mood. He composed himself and smiled before he entering the dressing room.
“Ohayou!” he greeted as he enter KAT-TUN's room.
“Ohayou!” came a sleepy response from the occupants of the room.
“You seem to be in a good mood, Tatchan,” said Kamenashi. “Where did you run off to last night?”
“I went to her hotel. We had dinner and a massage. I feel so rejuvenated right now,” answered a still smiling Tatsuya.
“Wah~ Sugoi! It must be nice to live in a hotel, ne? I envy you. I should ask Katrina out sometime or visit her at the hotel. How is she by the way?” replied Kamenashi.
“Lovely as always. She’d be modeling for her friend by the way. Maybe I'll bring you with me next time. I'm sure she'd love to see you too. But I guess I have to bear with you exchanging recipes and talking non-stop about food. You're her best friend when it comes to the kitchen.”
Kame laughed and said, “Jealous much? I could never steal her from you anyway.”
Jin, Yamapi and Ryo entered the room at that moment and heard Kamenashi's comment.
“So Tatchan really has a girlfriend?” Jin asked.
Before Tatsuya can answer, there was a knock on the door. Junno got up to open it and said, “Uepi, it’s for you.”
“Kento?” Tatsuya said.
The man named Kento bowed and said, “Ueda-sama the Miss told me to give this to you. You left your mobile phone this morning and she told me to give you this bento.”
“Ah, arigato,” Tatsuya said with a smile.
“I’ll take my leave now,” Kento said and with that, he left the room.
“Tat-chan you’re so lucky. Your girlfriend must be rich to have a butler run errands for her,” Koki said.
Tatsuya neither refute nor admit Koki’s statement. He just smiled. But before they can ask him any further, the manager came in and told them they are leaving for an interview. The three men were left to their own musings.
JIN
“I have to find out who Tat-chan’s girlfriend is! But he did say that he’d introduce me to her. Hmm… maybe I can just ask him.”
RYO
“Hime, you seem so happy and from the looks of it she’s been taking care of you well. But I would rather be the one taking care of you. Will I ever get a chance to let you know how I feel?”
YAMAPI
“I think I know why Ryo was so depressed last night. Maybe he followed Ueda-kun and saw him with the girl.”
After the earlier incident-if you can call it that-the whole day passed by in a blur. By the end of the day, everyone was so exhausted they’ve forgotten to question Tatsuya about his girlfriend.
Tatsuya was the last to leave for the day. As he passed by the NEWS’ dressing room, he was surprised to see the light is still on and the door was ajar. He stepped inside and saw Ryo sleeping on the couch. Seeing that no one else is around, he approached Ryo and sat on the floor beside the couch.
‘You look so tired,’ Tatsuya thought. ‘Have you been taking care of yourself? I would have wanted to take care of you, you know? Will you let me if I ask you?’
Tatsuya sat there watching Ryo sleep. After a while, he stood up to leave. He leaned down and planted a kiss on Ryo’s lips before whispering, “Please take care of your self. I love you.” With that, he left and closed the door carefully on his way out.
As soon as the door closed, Ryo woke up with a start. ‘What a nice dream. It seems so real,’ he thought. ‘Hime kissed me and told me he loves me. Maybe that means I shouldn’t give up yet. I might still have a chance to get my hime.’
For the first time since last night, a smile graced Ryo’s lips. He got up and packed his things all the while making plans on how to get his hime’s heart.
