Confession: I've discovered a new irrational fear. Everytime I pass a ladder that's folded and laying flat on the ground I have a fear I'll trip over it. Because of this, I picture myself tripping, getting entangled in it, over it some way and busting a tooth out of my mouth. As a reflex, I always pass my tongue over my teeth right after picturing it, as if I were checking they were still all there or something. It all happens pretty quickly while I pass the ladder. This happens far more often than one might think in my life.

Side Note: The upright ladders don't evoke fear, but I never walk under them.
