I've actually been asked this question alot by many people. So here it is: perhaps again, I dunno.
This for future generations is why I dislike Sin City, but love 300.
In Sin City women are smacked around and get over it, cause they're just dames. Our hero can smack badass chick in the face and only get "You bastard." She was holding a gun to his face. The cool thing to do is smack him back, with the gun. We get to see a woman grow from a little girl to a stripper who wants nothing better than to have a big man protect her.
In 300 the queen uses her sexuality to bribe someone. Then gets revenge.
In Sin City all of the men are insecure yaks. They want to not only kill their enemies, they want to torture them and rip their balls off to make theirs look bigger.
In 300 big Spartans kill hundreds of enemies to protect their home.
And that's really all my hate of Sin City boils down to. How women are treated, and how the violence is portrayed with a grotesque man-child mindset.
I've even admitted in public that I even like the middle story with Clive Owen despite the scenes included.
300 is about glory and while in some ways the violence is more realistic with the blood and the spears actually impaling people, it's also way more cartoony. There's wirework, physics move aside for Spartans in superman capes and briefs, but not for mutant ninjas.
Plus Sin City doesnt have Xerxes.
