And now I am in Wisconsin where there is even more cold and snow than in Iowa visiting my brother, his wife, and three kids. They are a nice family; it was a bit of a shock for me when the kids could 'pick a prayer' and it turned out to mean a traditional prayer turned into a quick little ditty for singing.
His two older kids have their own rooms now, both rather traditional gender wise. And they have a little game about asking each other questions, so my niece asked me what was my favorite thing I did that day. I said talking with "papa" (which is what they call their grandfather) and trading funny stories because we had a long drive. My sister-in-law said my dad and I didn't need a long time to talk a lot. I had to concede her point.
The youngest child is already walking a lot; I think he wants to keep up with his older brother and sister.
