On Friday night. (our official Movie night) we watched "Are We There Yet?" and "Princess Diaires 2" I LOVE both Princess Diarys. So funny, and romantic.
"Are We there yet?" was ok. Had a lot of junk (not BAD BAD stuff, just stuff that didn't HAVE to be put in there and that wern't that good for the boy's and little one's to see and hear.) that we had to "wade" through till we got to the REAL heart of the story wich was beautiful, I think.
Wow! 40 hugs! Thanks to "whoever" gave me those "hugs".
I just realised how much I love this neighbourhood That sounds a little stupid doesn’t it? Let me explain.
I've always liked the idea of that really "close, togetherness" neighbourhood that you some times see in old movies. Like every one knows each other and the kids play with each other at the nearby park or on a foot walk together or at a friends place just a block away...and the parents chat...
And I just got a little taste of that the other evening.
The wether was-is-almost like summer. Well actually it’s like spring even though we’re only in July-coming into August-and it was a beautiful day.
A soft breeze with the sent of all types of flowers that are beginning to bloom floated on the warm breeze. The sun was shining. Not its usual hard glare but with soft, warm rays warming Queens Lands population. Perfect winters day.
Mum gave the boy's permission to go over a play with these two other boy's who live opposite us. The all the boy's talk and shout over the fence to each other. And we've known them from the time…..well almost since we moved up here (we've actually had the pleasure of sitting these two little boy's. They're very cute). And Mum and Mrs H. (the boy's Mum) are friends.
So the boy's went over and play with Charlie and Alistair and us girls went off down to the shop and buy 3 packets of 125 water bombs (because we were in the "water bomb" mood, lol. We also bought some delicious drum sticks. naughty naughty.) We gave one packet to Charlie to go and play with the boy's with and took the rest home with us. ;)
Us girls decided that we didn't really feel like having a water fight after all. So Ruth still has them stashed away somewhere for another hot summers afternoon. Lol
The boy’s ended up playing in Charlie and Alistair’s neighbours yard. Because he has a nice big empty backyard with a garden tap very convenient. He was really nice. And seemed to enjoy the boy’s “fights” and he was honoured as the “water bomb filler upper”
Then Mum said she was going over to get the boy’s. (She could have very well just called over our back fence. But I knew she was going to have a little chat to Mrs H. Because they haven’t seen each other for a little while.)
So it ended up that our two next door neighbours and Mum began chatting in a warm, comfortable, friendly, neighbourly manner. Then the boy’s headed home while Mum was still chatting and ended up talking and “mucking around” with some boy’s that they play with most afternoons down at the park. So the atmosphere of the whole neighbourhood (even though we know only about 3 people nearby) was so warm and friendly.
There is also some African people that have just moved in one the corner who have the MOST adorable children. One little fellow (about 1 or 2) always runs out with a huge grin on his face as we walk by and would follow us all the way to the park (where we walk the dogs) if his parents don’t grab him. We are sort of on silent friendly terms with that family also. Because we wave and smile at each other when we go by and if we see each other down at the store.
Yesterday morning. I proposed to Judah that I felt like going for a bike ride. And he wanted to come too. So it ended up that for some unknown reason (as it often is in this family lol) Judah didn’t come. Miriam, Asa, and Johanna went with me. Oh and Johanna sitting on the back of my bike on a basket holder thing. Very fun and cute on her behalf.
And we also discovered for lack of use. Our tires were down so we had to WALK the bikes all the way down to peroral station. And pump them up. After a tiny while of figuring out how to work it. (Very simple actually) We headed off on backstreets that Asa hadn’t seen before and wanted to “check out”. So we ended up at the BIG cemetery and rode our bikes around. Climbing up steep roads and zooming down them.
I only saw one (know doubt there is more but it’s not very common) grave stone with a black and white picture of the two husband and wife who were buried there. For me it was really amazing. Because they were both like REALLY OLD pictures.
I was felt so bad though. We were riding down this STEEP hill and I yelled something out to Asa, then I looked up and saw this little old lady sitting by a very well kept double (well it looked double to me,,,from what I saw of it.) grave. I felt so bad that I had disturbed her. I just quickly rode on by though.
But like how sad is that. After all those years she still obviously comes to the grave because she feels the person must still be there.
Last night, I asked Dad if we could go into the city together and go to this cute little ice-cream parlour. Dad said he didn’t think so. So I asked if we could just go to this beautiful little lookout overlooking the WHOLE city. He said yes. So after we had all washed up. We went up there. But then didn’t feel like we wanted to get out so we didn’t we just drove around the city. Looking at some of the very new buildings that had just been put up or were being built and then we went through all the side street allies and ended up near Mc Donalds so Ruth suggested that we go and get some fries and chicken nuggets (our favourite). We did. (all the littlies in the back were sleeping) then Dad said he felt like a Ginger Beer so we searched in 3-or 4 shops and at the last one when we were just about to go. Dad spotted it. The nicest Bundaberg Ginger Beer. So we finished the night of very nicely. Lol
It was a pretty good day. I thank God for day’s like this.
Well I think I told about all of my Sunday afternoon!
Now today is Monday (morning) and our day has started off rather slow. Because….the swimming is on. And we just HAVE to see the swimming. So that’s what every one is doing. Up watching the championships. Go Grant Hackette!
And I’m down stairs on the computer waiting for more hot water to “down load” lol so I can have a shower.
My face is all caked with dried up with this moisturiser that we home make from the plant Fever-Few! We have just started using it again. Mum made if for us yesterday. It works SO well and keeps your face smooth and fades freckles, spots, and other blemishes. All us girls use it. Its really effective.
Now I've gotta go and wash it off.
Hope your all having a good nights sleep or a wonderful day. lol
