Professor Chris Hill: The paradigmatic example of a qualia is a kind of bodily sensation, like pain.
Student A: Do emotional pains count as qualia?
Professor Chris Hill: Controversially, yes.
A: Well, in that case might those qualia be socially constructed?
CH: Yeah, well, maybe, but I'm not talking about that kind of pain. I'm just talking about, you know... [raises fist, starts wading through the seated students towards A] ...everyday physical pain like... [punches* A in the face, A crunches onto desk] ... like THAT.
CH: [fist raised again] So, anybody else want to give me any "social construction" bullshit? Anybody?
