Last night I spent a few hours trying to write down a bunch of thoughts on my mind. You know the type--vague and discontented. The browser crashed twice. I'm taking that as a sign that those things shouldn't be written, anyway.
Instead, I'm going to snag this end-of-year meme from
thebird, except I'm going to make lots of extra commentary because I'm narcissistic. It's nice, because I've had this thing for just about on year not, give or take a half-month.
So...
January: Dedication -- An Ode to Greg Souza
Who is Gregory Souza, how has he affected us, and what is the secret of his greatness?
February: No comment.
I wanted to write something interesting, but instead I just feel tired.
(Lame, on the surface--but those were the days when I was subject to random abuse from an anonymous heckler! What novelty! I miss those days. Where are you,
ombilic_des)? Also, apparently I had a long discussion with Hal about methodology, which must have been nice, although I don't have the energy to review it now. I also totally offended Melanie--"and p.s. novelists are methodological, idiot." I'm sorry, Melanie. But my point is that this was kind of an interesting post after all, apparently. Again, those were the good old days.)
March:
Shit's going down in Interfaith house.
(And it was. And then some. Hal's comment: "Seb, I have just made a rather contentious observation on one of you friend’s journals." But really, most of this post was about Eastern conceptions of the soul, and how, while still wack, unlike Western conceptions of the soul, they are not wiggity-wack, but just the regular kind.)
April:
Forgive the ridiculous amount of posting. Home is boring.
(This post, from a cursory scan, looks like it's all about Dungeons and Dragons minutia. Rock. I'm pissed because I forgot to bring all the papers for it home this break...)
May: Time Traveler Convention, May 7th
I've been busy.
(First -ive-ournal introduction of
j3eej)
June:Ann Coulter and conversations with mom
Last night I hung out with an old friend (porn star name: Dale something) from NCCS who has books by Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly on his bookshelf.
July: Home, Dad's programming experience, IP research, neural nets, politics
I'm home for the weekend, but my closest buddies from home all seem to be absent.
(Some politics discussion with Piotr and Hal follows...)
August: The more things change...
...the more they stay the same.
September: Back to school.
I feel...anachronistic.
October:
Well...that changes everything.
(It most certainly did.)
November:: Yes!
There is an OED entry for 'ho.'
December:
Ace of Bass is my new guilty pleasure.
