Holy crap! -- and discussion question
I'm going to break the tone here.
This -ive-ournal thing is even worse than thefacebook.com! I must have checked it at least ten times today.
I don't know what cognitive devices this thing sets off.
Lofty Discussion question: Define truth. Now consider other possible definitions of the truth. What are your objections to these, if any? Should we adopt different terms for the different concepts that seem to fall under the word truth, or is only one of these concepts worthy of the connotations carried by the word "truth"?
I'm asking because I'm interested in solidifying my metaphysics so I can move on to solving other things. My intention was to solve all metaphysical problems, at least with something good enough as a temporary solution, quickly, so that I could get on to moral and political problems. My friend, whose porn star name is debatably either Whitney Wood or Whitney Rollingwood, has sparked my activity on this since he wants to collaborate on a book about it.
We have, I'm discovering as I work on this post, major intellectual differences, but I'm totally game.
