Wow. That's really the only word I can think of. Wow in the beginning, middle and end... Oh my goodness, I've been waiting for this movie for almost a year, and quite frankly I was not dissappointed. Man... oh man... I love anime, but this movie was in a class of it's own! Inu Yasha 3: The Sword of World Conquest... Really, I had expected greatness, and I got excellence.
The first movie was okay, compared to this one. I can honestly say that I have never felt this way after seeing a movie. I mean, it took my breath away, I loved it so much. I just finished downloading it like at 11:00 and I watched it immediatly. Before, Robby asked me "Aren't you gonna be disappointed if the movie sucks?" But you can guess from my excitement that it didn't suck!
The main thing about this movie that I liked is that it revealed so much more about Inu Yasha's and Sesshomaru's parents. I now actually know Inu Yasha's mother's name (it's Izayoi, by the way)! In the beginning it started as a scene from the past and Inu Yasha's father, I think the movie said his name was Inu no Taisho or something, but that sounds more like a title, anyway... in the begining, Inu Yasha's father was fighting all these soldiers to get to Izayoi and uses the Tetsusaiga to get through them. When he used the KAZE NO KIZU, it made Inu Yasha's version look like nothing! Then this guy named Takemaru killed Izayoi and Inu Yasha's father used the Tenseiga to bring her back to life!
But the something that just made my jaw drop was when Inu Yasha took the third sword that belonged to his father, the Sou'unga, and performed its ultimate attack, the Gokuryuha. When he did this, it made the Bakaryuha, Tetsusaiga's ultimate attack, look like a grain of sand on the beach.
However, setting all that aside, there was one scene that just really jumped out and touched me. The whole group, meaning Inu Yasha, Kagome, Sango, Shippo, Kirara, and Miroku, had fought a long battle and were all exhausted (Yes, shippo actually fought well!). The enemy just kept coming, so Miroku stood in front of everyone, preparing his Wind Tunnel. The bad thing is that sucking in one enemy greatly poisons Miroku (worst then Naraku's insects), however, there was an entire army of them. Sango tried to stop him, but then he looked her in the eyes and said "If I don't use this for the girl I love, what use is it?" I know that sounds kind of perverted, but it was a serious moment of life and death. He sucked in all the enemies and passed out from the poison. But later, when he was still weak and you think he is unconcious, Sango nearly falls to her doom, but Miroku grabs her just in time, telling her to be strong.
Well, I think I've revealed way too much of the movie already... but hey, If it took so long for the first movie to come out in english, just imagine how long it will take for the third! Anyway, if you want to know how I got it, I used Bittorrent, although I didn't always like it... If you know about bittorrent and you also want to try downloading the movie, I can send you the tracker file.
Anyway, I'm done babbling.
