Just writing....

If you don't give a shit, don't read this. I've just been away from writing for so long that I need to just unload.

About LiveJournal:
I was reading some stuff I wrote in my LiveJournal almost TWO YEARS ago, and I was reminded of what an amazing thing LiveJournal is. People in the "Olden Days" used to have journals all the time. I remember hanging out at my Grandparents' bed & breakfast and reading through my Grandmother's high school journal. The things she wrote were so crazy and old-fashioned... but it was SO COOL, because we could read her something that she wrote, and she'd remember the day it happened. I was reminded of this when I was reading my old entries, because, when I read them, I can remember back to the time I wrote them so much more vividly. Whenever something big happens to me in my life, I try to write something down that I can keep with me forever. This is the service that LiveJournal provides us all on a daily basis. Scroll back to YOUR first few entries on the LJ. How happy are you that you can look back and see that? I think that everyone should have a LJ.
Screw MySpace. MySpace is cool, because everyone AND THEIR MOMS is on it. ... LiveJournal provides a sort of refuge that gives us the intimate, creative freedom to not censor what we say. And, when looking back... that is EFFing AWESOME.

About Possibilities:
My Grandmother writes a column for her local newspaper that is printed once a week. It's a "Commentary" column in which she writes about whatever she wants (usually based on life situations and her wisdom after living such a long and happy life). It's a great column, and she's written a lot of stuff that make people stop her on the street and gush to her about how much they love her writing. I was thinking... she pretty much does what people on LJ do, and yet, lots of peeps (especially strangers) are really interested. And so, I proposed THIS idea to Gma. I suggested we pick a topic (e.g. Traditions, Chivalry, Values, Family, etc...) and have her posting about the topic about her 80+ years of life, and my posting about my 20+ years of life, and run the posting right next to each other in her column. ...So that the readers can see the differences between generations, and how, just because times are changing, it doesn't mean the world is going to the shitter.
What I mean is... in her time, it was unheard of for a man to do the dishes, while in today's society, it's fine (if not expected). On that same token, ... in her time, it was unheard of for a woman to have a better job than a man, while in today's society, it's a common occurence.
It's an idea in progress... but it seems pretty cool... right?

About Sports:
DODGERS:
We have a General Manager now. Effff yeah! And... we picked up Furcal with the big bucks. Cool! We got a Manager that's a PROVEN winner. Sweet!!!! But... why?
"Why?" well... let me tell you. It's because Frank McCourt is an effffing douche-bag screwball that let shit get wayyyy too out-of-hand in the first place. Now he's trying to compensate with his pocket-book, when his pocket-book SHOULD HAVE BEEN the factor that KEPT things from flying out-of-hand in the first efffing place. These recent pick-ups are great... but is it too little too late?
Behind the Yankees and the Red Sox, the Dodgers are the third most profitable franchise in baseball. Why does it take an EFFing TERRIBLE season to finally start trying to compete?! That was a question... but I have the answer....: The Angels. The Angels are better than the Dodgers. The Angels are more exciting than the Dodgers. The Angels are managed by a sentimental Dodger favorite, and... to top it off, they CHANGED THEIR NAME to the LOS ANGELES Angels (of Anaheim). McCourt feels a conquest breathing down his neck, and he's started to take action. Effing finally. We're making good effort. I'll be happy if we end up getting Soriano and Zito. If we don't.... with Izturis, Drew, and Gagne on the bench for the first half of the season... we're not making the playoffs. So... Mr. McCourt, wht d'you got?!
LAKERS:
Tonight's game was AWESOME. Why? Kobe SHARED the ball. Kobe is one of my favorite players... but, seriously... most of the shots he takes are just effing ridiculous. Phil does not have that deep of a bench going for him, but the players he DOES believe in have been coming through for him. Props. We're up to .500 and out of last place.
I think Larry Brown said it best after the Knicks's loss to the Lakers when he said, "It's hard to plan a defense when they have two of the best players in basketball on the floor." Yes... I agree with him. I think Lamaar is effin' awesome. And when Kobe stops thinking he's the only scorer on the floor, the Lakers will do a lot better than .500 . Phil is coachin' that TEAM game... and that's why I'm glad he's gettin' paid $10 mil a year. Let's see if Kobe can keep sharing...
COLTS:
I've been pulling for the Indianapolis Colts all season, because their team defense is my Fantasy Team's defense, but now that they're still undefeated, I'm really hoping they can nab an undefeated SuperBowl win. Only one team in history has done it, and, since this is the first year I've EVER cared about the NFL, I hope the Colts can pull it off. I want to be able to remember such a historic year in football. Hell... I'm rootin' for 'em. (knockin' on wood)
SOCCER:
Haha. Yeah right. ....like I'd have anything to say about soccer EVER. I hate soccer.
SHAQ:
I'm sick and effing tired of Los Angelinos bitching about getting rid of Shaq. Shaq isn't shit anymore. He couldn't save the Heat last year, and all of this season, he's been out with injuries. I think (and it's fine if you hate me for saying this) that the Lakers would have been worse-off both LAST YEAR and THIS year if Shaq was on the team. If you disagree, leave a comment and we'll discuss. He just needs to go on Best Damn Sports and stay there. Because... he's ENTERTAINING as HELL... but he's not athletic anymore.
And... yes, I DID just say that.

I have a lot more to say about a lot of stuff... but I'm goin' to bed for now. Night.
