Wireless pet memory
Trudi had a bit of trouble the other day with the backup of her latest novel. Somehow or other it looks like an older version was written over the latest version and a few thousand word were lost. Not a complete disaster but pretty disheartening. Anyway, we talked about backups and off-site backups and what to grab if there was a fire. Basically it boiled down to cat, laptop and handbag. I talked about hanging the USB key around the cat's neck to save time (like the universe in MiB), but he hates collars. And then it came to me....
We have a wireless network. The cat has a microchip. What if we could put in a new chip that had flash memory and a wireless interface. Then Trudi could store a backup copy in the cat! The wifi wouldn't need much range as he sleeps on the daybed in Trudi's office most days. Perfect.
